Wait, Disney World Restaurants Are Adding Hurricane Meal Kits To Their Menus?

If you live in Florida or are headed to Florida soon, you’re probably keeping tabs on Tropical Storm Elsa may impact the weather in the state for the next few days.

Storm Clouds!

We’re watching for updates on that and will be keeping you updated. In the past we’ve shared a look at what you need to know if a hurricane threatens Disney World, and even our thoughts on the best hurricane-ready hotels in Disney World. But, today we spotted something unique when we looked at some Disney World hotel menus, which could relate to the upcoming storm.

During hurricanes in the past, Disney has offered hotel guests pre-packaged meals and snacks from resort food courts and dining locations. These have typically included things like sandwiches, chips, and fruits.

As we were looking at some Disney World Resort hotel restaurant menus today we noticed something unique. At Disney’s Pop Century Resort, at Everything POP! Food Court, we found that Hurricane Meal Kits have been added to the menu.

The meal kits were listed for both breakfast and dinner. The Adult Breakfast Kit (priced at $8) includes a Bagel and Cream Cheese, Greek Yogurt, Cereal and Small Lowfat Milk, Fresh Fruit, and Simply Orange Juice. It’s served with butter, jelly, utencils, and napkins.

There was also a separate Adult Kit (listed for breakfast, but which appeared to be intended for Lunch) for $10 which included a turkey and lettuce wrap and more.

There were also allergy-friendly kits and vegetarian kits. There were also kits for kiddos for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast kit includes cereal and a lowfat milk, raisins, apple slices, a peanut butter packet, and more.

The lunch kit includes an Uncrustable sandwich, fresh fruits, and more. You can see the full details below.

We spotted some similar items added to the menu at Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

These were just labeled as “Meal Kits” though, not “Hurricane Meal Kits” as the ones at Pop Century were labeled.

Similar “Meal Kits” have been added to the menus for many other quick service restaurants in the Disney World hotels, including Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, BoardWalk Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk, The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and more.

While these items have appeared on the menus for these restaurants, they may not appear to be options when placing a Mobile Order. For example, when we looked to place a Mobile Order for Capt. Cook’s, these Meal Kit options did not appear.

We went to Capt. Cook’s at the Polynesian to get more information. The Cast Member we spoke to there said they aren’t offering these items at the moment. Another Cast Member mentioned that it was something they considered doing, but as of right now they are not offering it. The Cast Member did say that we could check back later in case they do start offering these kits in the future.

So, while these items appear to have been added to the online menus for these spots, they may not be available just yet at these spots. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.
