We’ve been keeping an eye out for updates about Tropical Depression Fred, and sharing our tips on how to prepare for the 2021 hurricane season at Disney World. And now we’ve got an update on a potential storm that may be heading to Florida soon, following Tropical Depression Fred.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, another tropical depression (that could become a tropical storm) could make its way to Florida in the middle of next week.

The tropical wave was named Tropical Depression 7, and could form into Tropical Storm Grace in the Atlantic. As of the National Hurricane Center’s 5PM advisory, the storm had sustained winds of 35 mph and was moving at 22 mph.

The long-range forecast shows the storm in the Florida Straits by Wednesday. The forecast is predicting, however, that it will be a weak tropical storm at that time with sustained winds of 45 mph.

A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The storm is expected to slow down next week, but as Chris Gilson of Spectrum News 13 has noted, “it’s still a ways, away” and a lot could change.

We’ll continue to monitor this storm and let you know if we spot updates that could impact your Disney trip. Stay tuned for more news.
