How to Maximize Your Time at BOO Bash in Disney World

Feeling spooky? That makes sense! The Halloween season is in full swing in Disney World!

Spooky!

One of the biggest indicators of the Halloween season in Magic Kingdom this year is the new Disney After Hours BOO Bash event! This three-hour event is PRICY, but we had a pretty good time exploring. So, if you’re headed to BOO Bash we want to make sure you know EXACTLY how to maximize your time so you get your money’s worth!

If you care about rides, prioritize them!

First up, if you care about the rides, make sure to prioritize them! There are a whopping 22 rides open during the After Hours event and they will each have SIGNIFICANTLY lower wait times than during a park day.

5-10 minute waits!

Waits were typically 25 minutes or lower (with Astro Orbiter spiking earlier in the night and Space Mountain spiking later). If you play your cards right, you should be able to ride everything you want to during the party, but you’ll need to make those rides a priority since there’s not too much time!

Wait a little bit to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

The one ride you might want to treat a little differently than the others is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We noticed that this one had a long wait towards the beginning of the event and fizzled out to a 20 minute or lower wait later in the night.

Seven Dwarves Mine Train: 45 minutes at 9:30PM

If you’re hoping to ride this VERY popular attraction, don’t do it first thing! Knock out some other priorities and then head to see Snow White and the Dwarfs once the wait is a little lower.

Check out the second set of entertainment to avoid crowds.

Maximizing your time at BOO Bash isn’t just about doing everything you can, it’s also about having the best time. For some, that might mean avoiding crowds as much as possible! There are already a LOT fewer people in the park than usual during this After Hours event, but you can also spot entertainment at lower crowd times.

Dr. Facilier!

We noticed that the first round of Character Cavalcades had more crowds looking out for them than the later round did. Save entertainment until later in the evening to avoid the crowds!

Know where the characters greet in advance.

Speaking of characters, there are also a number of characters greeting around the park. We spotted Goofy, Piglet, Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Madame Carlotta, Foulfellow and Gideon, Chip ‘n’ Dale, and the Cadaver Dans!

To make sure you catch all of these pals, you’ll want to know where to spot them in advance. You can check out our guide to know exactly which spots to check for costumed pals and villains throughout the night!

Another thing to add to your game plan is the SNACK PLAN. Specialty treats at the event include the Prince John Sucker, the Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake, the Five Dozen Eggs Slush, the Maleficent Churros, and the Apple Ginger Dale.
