Disney World will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in all kinds of special ways this year!
There will be golden statues spread throughout the parks, new dining experiences, a new kite show in Animal Kingdom, special transformations coming to the parks’ icons, and more. One of the things Disney announced earlier this year is that (as part of the celebrations) Magic Kingdom will be getting a brand NEW fireworks show called Disney Enchantment. And today Disney shared a whole bunch of details about what guests will see when this new show debuts!
Disney Enchantment is a brand NEW fireworks show that will debut in Magic Kingdom on October 1st of this year. The show is said to take guests “on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment,” inspiring everyone to believe in magic. It will feature music, special lighting, fireworks (of course), and immersive projection effects that (for the first time) will extend all the way down Main Street, U.S.A.
Today, Disney shared more details about the show. During Disney Enchantment, guests will actually get to hear a NEW, original song called “You Are the Magic,” which was created by GRAMMY-winner Philip Lawrence.
When talking about Disney Enchantment, Mark Renfrow, a Show Director with Disney Live Entertainment said “the best is yet to come! I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re creating with ‘Disney Enchantment.’”
In new concept art shared for the show, we can see special lighting (and potentially projections) on Main Street, U.S.A. and the castle, as well as some very colorful fireworks in the sky.
During Disney Enchantment, guests will get to join a whole bunch of Disney dreamers like “Tiana, Miguel, Rapunzel, and brothers Ian & Barley from Onward.” We’ll also get to “set out on an incredible journey” with characters like Moana, Raya, and Judy Hopps. Ready to go into “the zone” with Joe Gardner from Soul? Seems like you’ll get to do that too! And Disney has shared that when you go in “the zone,” you’ll discover “a whimsical world inspired by the style of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair.”
This “whimsical world” will feature characters from classic and new Disney films including Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Luca, and even Wreck-It Ralph. Disney has noted that the show will feature characters, moments, and music from dozens of both Disney and Pixar animated films.
Disney shares that this will all build to a climactic moment where the one and only Tinker Bell will take flight! And as she does, she’ll spread shimmering gold pixie dust and empower guests to “believe in [them]selves and the magic all around [them].”
According to Disney the show will take us “beyond the ordinary to a land of magic, where we’re swept up in a world of wonder filled with friendship, love and fun. Through it all, we’ll discover we only have to look within to find the power to believe and make dreams come true, because the magic was inside us all along!”
Sounds like there will be a whole bunch of characters, music, and more to enjoy in this show.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more details about Disney Enchantment and we’ll let you know what we find!
