PRICING Announced for the Transportation Service Replacing Disney’s Magical Express

Disney’s Magical Express is being discontinued on January 1st, 2022.

Disney’s Magical Express

The free airport transportation service will be no longer, but don’t worry! There’s still a similar way to get from Orlando International Airport to Disney World. Mears, the company that runs Magical Express, will still be offering a transportation service. But, it won’t be free.

Mears Connect is the new service that will begin, conveniently, on January 1st, 2022! You can book reservations for transportation right now. And pricing has also been released.

Mears will have two different levels of transportation you can book. The first is Standard, which is shared, uses large vehicles (buses), and has monitored wait times. The second is Premium, which has a limited wait time and direct service.

Here’s a look at introductory prices for both services:

After selecting which service you want, you move on to enter your resort and flight information.

We found a flight on January 1st, 2022 to show you as an example and picked Disney’s Riviera Resort as our drop-off and pick-up location. And then, we discovered a very weird glitch. When selecting standard service for one adult, our total came out to $300 round trip instead of the listed $32 from Mears!

That’s more than even the premium service is listed for! We tried looking at just a one-way trip with the same date, flight details, and resort and it did the same thing! Our fare was listed at $150 instead of $16.

But then, when we changed our resort to Disney’s Yacht Club, it went down to $16. So strange!

We’re not sure what’s going on with that, but we’re pretty sure it’s some sort of glitch, because the round trip premium service fare is being shown as $200 (which is what Mears listed it as), and that includes 4 passengers compared to the 1 we were putting in for standard service!

Hopefully, we get some answers on that or it gets worked out soon! So you might see pricing changes based on your flight, date, and resort. But again, this could just be a glitch as standard pricing is listed as $16 one way and $32 for round trip.

Now, remember that these are introductory rates, which Mears is advertising as being a way to save money if you book now, so these probably won’t stay the same price moving forward. We’ll keep an eye out for more info, so stay tuned to DFB for updates!
