Calling all fellow cupcake lovers! Remember that Moana cupcake we told you about yesterday from Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Well…if you love Moana and cupcakes then you’ll be thrilled to now that there’s ANOTHER Moana cupcake also available at Disney’s Polynesian Resort right now, and this one is the official treat released in celebration of World Princess Week. We’ve been trying all kinds of new princess desserts (like the Belle cheesecake or apple pie Snow White cupcake) around the parks and resorts lately, so we just had to stop by the Poly to check this one out.
For $5.99, you can voyage over to Capt. Cook’s or Kona Island to try the new Moana cupcake for a limited time!
This Moana cupcake is made of a vanilla cake with coconut mousse and is filled with vanilla buttercream. And it’s topped with white chocolate details. We found that most of the coconut flavor was on the green grassy side of the cupcake so that’s something to keep in mind when biting into this treat.
On top of the cupcake, little flakes of toasted coconut were sprinkled around, but we tasted a dominantly creamy vanilla flavor.
As you can imagine, this was a very sweet cupcake with a very vanilla-focused flavor. We welcomed the addition of the coconut mousse, especially since the rest of the cupcake was predominantly vanilla flavored. Chocolate lovers won’t find too much to really make their taste buds dance in this treat, other than the white chocolate toppings. So, if you’re looking for a lot of chocolate, this isn’t the treat for you.
We wish that there was a more exciting filling inside (rather than just more vanilla flavors). But, overall this is still a great option for fans of coconut, vanilla, and Instagram-worthy desserts!
As you can see, there was a good amount of vanilla buttercream inside, which went well with the coconut flavor. But again, we do wish there would have been a different filling to give this treat a more fun, unique flavor.
If you want to grab this cupcake, be sure to do so while it’s still available. World Princess Week is set to last through August 29th. We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more new treats all around Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews and Disney news!
