The Drop Off Pool Bar, located at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, offers cocktails, slushies, and milkshakes! It’s the perfect spot to grab a treat to beat the heat and cool down by the pool.
The last time we visited, we really enjoyed this spot’s summertime offerings, even if there was an unwelcome surprise in one of them! They’ve had some creative drinks in the past, like the Bacon and Bourbon Spiked Shake! Today, we stopped by The Drop Off to check out two new drinks available this month: the Orange Vanilla Shake and the Reefside Punch!
Like the rest of the Art of Animation Resort, The Drop Off is themed after animated films from Disney and Pixar! The section of the resort where The Drop Off is located is themed after Finding Nemo. The bar is named after the famous drop off in the movie, where the reef ends and the open ocean begins!
Each month, the bar offers different specialty cocktails. The two newest drinks are available for August!
First, we tried the Orange Vanilla Spiked Milkshake, which is available for $13! This drink is a vanilla milkshake with Svedka Vodka, Bolts Triple Sec, and Minute Maid orange juice topped with whipped cream and a candy orange slice.
This shake was AMAZING! It tasted just like a Creamsicle and it had just the slightest vodka flavor. The presentation was on point and the details (like the candied orange on top!) really made this drink stand out. The rim with white chocolate and orange sprinkles was a cute touch. The shake is pre-mixed with the booze, but we couldn’t tell by tasting it. If you love orange milkshakes or Creamsicles, you gotta give this one a try!
Also, we tried out the Reefside Punch, which is available for $15! This drink is Svedka Vodka, Cruzan Mango rum, Minute Maid Lemonade, and grenadine shaken with a souvenir glow cube.
This one was good! We wish the presentation was on the same level as the last drink, but this is still a great tart cocktail. The subtle mango flavor and the lemonade give this drink a nice sweet-tart flavor! You can certainly taste the rum and the whole drink gives off a strong tropical vibe. If you love mango and want a tropical drink that isn’t overly sweet, give this drink a try!
Overall, the two new drinks from The Drop Off Pool Bar were great! We recommend stopping by and giving them a try, especially if you’re staying at the Art or Animation or Pop Century just across the bridge! We’re keeping up with the latest Disney news, so stay tuned here for more!
