This summer is flying by and it’s already August!
Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom
A new month means a fresh start, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a NEW cupcake of the month! In the past, we’ve seen such creations like the Flamingo Cupcake, Cotton-Top Tamarin Cupcake, Sea Turtle Cupcake, and July’s cupcake was a very fall-inspired Tiger Cupcake. The newest cupcake is inspired by a classic Disney animated film, so let’s dig in!
While July’s Tiger Cupcake reminded us of fall, August’s cupcake is more of a return to summer with this rich new cupcake! We found the new The Jungle Book-inspired Baloo Cupcake in Creature Comforts, also known as the Starbucks of Animal Kingdom, for $5.99. It’s described as chocolate cake with caramel-honey banana jam, caramel-honey frosting, chocolate crisp pearls, and a chocolate Baloo medallion.

The Baloo Cupcake is bright and summery with green frosting, chocolate pearls, and a Baloo cupcake topper. We weren’t sure what to expect with the caramel-honey and banana flavors!

We loved the chocolate cake, especially the vivid green frosting, which had a rich creamy flavor with hints of caramel.

The chocolate Baloo cupcake topper was a basic chocolate flavor and super cute too with its design of Baloo wearing a grass skirt.

The inside of the cupcake surprised us with the caramel-honey banana jam, which gave us a strong hint of banana with every bite. This cupcake is NOT for people who don’t like bananas. The filling is HEAVY on the banana!

If you are a chocolate and banana person, make sure to try the Baloo Cupcake in August! But if you don’t like bananas — steer clear. This cupcake will likely be available through August in Animal Kingdom at locations such as Creature Comforts, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Restaurantosaurus.
