We’re back with all the unexpected things that happened in Disney World this week!
This week, Disney World’s Halloween event, BOO Bash After Hours, kicked off, and we also received announcements from Disney regarding their upcoming holiday party and a new EPCOT restaurant. Let’s get into it!
Missing Halloween Treats
After Disney released a list of Halloween treats that would be available in Disney World beginning on August 10th, we, of course, set off to try them all. There were two BOO Bash exclusive treats listed initially, but as we searched the Parks, we discovered that several of the treats listed as available during the day were actually exclusive to the BOO Bash event.
We visited Magic Kingdom to try the Prince John Sucker, Mocha Chocolate Chip, and Maleficent Churro only to find out from Cast Members that they were actually BOO Bash exclusive treats, meaning you must attend the event in order to purchase the treats.
Later, Disney updated their website to accurately reflect the BOO Bash exclusive treats, but there might have been some disappointed people in Magic Kingdom that day!

Space 220
Disney surprised us with some news about Space 220, the highly anticipated immersive space-themed restaurant coming to EPCOT. Space 220 was announced in 2017 and has hit multiple setbacks, pushing back the opening of the restaurant quite a bit. But we finally have SOME information about this restaurant!
First Look
Space 220 will be located in EPCOT’s Future World near Mission: SPACE. When you enter Space 220’s Departure Lounge, you will be taken to a “Space Elevator” that will bring you to the restaurant’s setting: the Centauri Space Station, which is 220 miles above the Earth!
And while you dine, you’ll be able to see a panoramic view of Earth as well as watch Space Station activities out of the windows!

Timeline
We had already learned that Space 220 might open sometime in Fall 2021, and now Disney has announced that they plan to have Space 220 in service by mid-September of this year. Considering it’s already August, that’s right around the corner!
Disney has not yet provided an official opening date, which means we’ll be keeping a close eye on further announcements regarding Space 220’s opening date and reservations!

Menu
We also learned a little about the Space 220 menu, which will feature a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch and a three-course prix fixe menu for dinner. Executive Chef Marc Kusche will be serving upscale dishes and the drink menu will offer “atmospheric cocktails.”
While you dine, you’ll be able to gaze out the windows to see leisure and work activities taking place “outside” the restaurant!

Very Merriest News
Another surprise delivered by Disney was the announcement of Disney Very Merriest After Hours dates, pricing, and details about the event!
Dates
The Disney Very Merriest After Hours will take place on twenty-four nights from November 8 through December 21, 2021. The event takes place from 9PM to 1AM in Magic Kingdom on select dates on both weekdays and weekends. Ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 7PM.
Tickets will go on sale on August 20th or on August 17th for Disney Resort Guests. And ticket holders will NOT need a Park Pass Reservation or a theme park ticket for the day of their visit.
Here are the Very Merriest After Hours dates!
Event Parade
So what will the event actually entail? We learned that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will be back for Disney Very Merriest After Hours! This will be the first parade in Disney Parks since the closure of the parks.
The Christmas parade will feature Mickey and Minnie, the Toy Soldiers, characters from Frozen, and Santa! This holiday parade will be exclusive to the Disney Very Merriest After Hours event.

Event Fireworks
In addition to the parade, Disney had already announced that Very Merriest would feature the Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show. What we didn’t realize was that ticket holders for Very Merriest will have the opportunity to see TWO fireworks shows in one night!
If guests of Disney Very Merriest After Hours enter Magic Kingdom at 7PM, they will have the opportunity to catch the brand new 50th-anniversary fireworks show, Disney Enchantment, all before the holiday party has even started!
Learn how to see 2 different fireworks shows in one night here!
There will also be holiday overlays on rides like the Jungle Cruise, characters dressed in their holiday best, special holiday PhotoPass Magic Shots, complimentary treats and popcorn, exclusive event treats, and SNOAP!
Pricing
And we’re onto the BIG question — how much will the Disney Very Merriest After Hours tickets cost? Depending on the date in November and December, tickets will range in price from $169 to $229 (don’t forget tax). If you visit on December 19th or 21st, you’re looking at a ticket price of $249.
Given that Very Merriest includes a parade and a fireworks show along with a lot of other holiday offerings, you need to decide whether the ticket prices are worth the splurge. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can get a $10 discount on ticket prices on select dates in November.
