Planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth in October?
In October, you could take in all of the Halloween decor in Magic Kingdom, potentially go to the new Disney’s BOO Bash After Hours event (though tickets are currently sold out), and enjoy all kinds of Halloween treats! But, before you do all of that you’ll need to get to Disney World. Want to know what it will cost you to fly to Disney World in October? Here’s what you need to know.
Just like our version of this post for September flights, we aren’t looking at every single airport in the U.S. (or the world for that matter). For purposes of this post, we once again looked at some of the bigger airports in the United States. We then looked at what it would cost to fly from each of those airports (on a variety of different airlines) in October.
We mainly checked the prices for a flight departing on October 14th (Thursday) and returning on October 18th (Monday), basically a quick weekend trip. The cost of flights for this weekend was pretty representative of the rest of the month, except for the dates that were much closer to Halloween. Those were noticeably more expensive, so just keep that in mind. There were also some more expensive dates scattered throughout, particularly some at the beginning of the month.
This is all based on the information we saw on Google Flights, but keep in mind that prices can vary a LOT so you’ll want to pay close attention to whatever days you’re trying to travel to Orlando.
Also, just as we mentioned last time, it’s important to remember that each airline (and different tickets within those airlines) will come with their own set of benefits or drawbacks. You may find that one airline’s tickets will generally be more expensive, but their tickets come with the ability to bring a carry-on back or select your seat on the plane. Others will be significantly cheaper but do not include benefits like that. Those are important things to consider when purchasing your flight. You’ll have to determine what benefits are important to you and which are worth the cost.
Additionally, keep in mind that the costs we’ll be sharing here are base ticket prices. They don’t include additional taxes, fees, or other costs that may be charged if the ticket is actually purchased.
Just like we did in our last flights post, the way we’ve calculated these ticket prices is by looking at the least expensive combination of flights for each airline, from each airport, etc. That means we look the least expensive departing flight from the airport to Orlando, and the least expensive return flight from Orlando to the airport.
Those flights may not be convenient for you, they may involve multiple stops, etc. You may be able to book a different combination of flights that includes a cheaper departing flight and a more expensive return flight. In other words, these are not exact figures, but just meant to give you a general idea of what the flights may cost.
For those familiar with the Southwest ticket options, we strictly looked at the “Wanna Get Away” tickets that were available for the dates we searched. For all of the other airlines, we utilized the Google Flight search tool as it was the most convenient. Since we utilized Google’s search function, we do want to note that flights could be more or less expensive when you go to book them on the actual airline’s website.
Also, we wanted to mention that for the flights we tried to limit it only to flights that would arrive on the same day they departed, so that could affect some of the pricing estimates. Note that all of these tickets are just for 1 person.
Alright, with all of that out of the way, let’s take a look at the numbers.
