What You WON’T Be Able to Do in Disney World Next Week

There have been some updates in Disney World recently with hotels and attractions finishing up refurbishments!

The Hall of Presidents

There are still a few closures to keep in mind, though. We’re looking at all the Disney Parks and hotels to see what’s going to be closed this week in Disney World!

As far as closures happening in the parks, there are only scheduled refurbishments happening in Disney’s Magic Kingdom this week.

Magic Kingdom

We’re happy to announce that the Hall of Presidents is no longer on the list of closed rides in Magic Kingdom! It got a surprise reopening this week, and we went inside to see the new President Joe Biden animatronic.

The attraction in Magic Kingdom that’s still down for refurbishments is the Walt Disney World Railroad. Construction on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland interrupted the tracks, so we likely won’t see this one open for a while!

Fantasyland Train Station

What we CAN see, however, is the Main Street Railroad Station! A lot of the coverings over it that went up for refurbishment are coming down, and most of the station is visible again.

We spy a railroad station!

Last on the list for the Magic Kingdom’s refurbishments is the Main Street Confectionery. This sweet shop is getting updates to its interior, so you’ll have to find another stop for your candy needs!

That’s it for the parks, so we’re heading to the Disney World resorts for more updates and closures!

Disney World Resorts

There are a few hotels around Disney World with closures this week. First up, let’s see what’s going on at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! At the Polynesian, the only construction remaining from their extensive updates is the Monorail station.

Monorail Station

Due to construction going on there, you won’t be able to take the Monorail from this resort. Instead, the Polynesian is offering buses to the Magic Kingdom, or you could walk along the trails to get there too!

Another long-time construction project at a Disney World hotel is the updates at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Lots of Construction

The Contemporary is updating guest rooms with a new Incredibles theme! The lobby is also closed for refurbishments, so guest services are located on the second floor for now.

The Contemporary Lobby Level

As part of the construction going on, the Wave…of American Flavors is being remodeled as well! You can still get the Wave’s breakfast (located in the California Grill dining room), and the rest of the restaurant is expected to open for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations in October.

We’re ending our Resort refurbishments tour at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, where there’s a big lobby update going on.

Because of the construction, guests will be asked to drive to the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center for check-in. The front desk and concierge services are available in the hallway near the lobby area.

That’s a wrap on the refurbishments and closures around Disney World for this week! Keep in mind that these are only the scheduled closings, so weather or other technical issues could still cause some unexpected closures.
