A Club Cool Opening Date, 50th Anniversary Statues, and More Disney NEWS Drops You Missed!

1 — Annual Passes Are Available to Purchase Again!

That’s right folks — Annual Passes for Disney World are now on sale! Keep in mind that Disney has introduced a NEW Annual Pass program with 4 available pass types.

Trying to make your Park Pass reservations? Bonus Park Pass reservations can also now be made by Annual Passholders. These bonus reservations don’t count toward your overall Park Pass limit.

2 — BIG EPCOT Opening Dates

This week we got some big news about 2 new things coming to EPCOT.

First, the opening date has been announced for EPCOT’s new Creations Shop (the shop that will replace Mouse Gear). Mark your calendars — the Creations Shop will open on September 15th!

The shop will feature a brand new merchandise collection and we have a feeling it’ll be VERY popular with EPCOT fans.

But wait, there’s more! The revitalized version of Club Cool also now has an official opening date! Get ready for the return of Beverly because Club Cool will open on September 15th as well.

3 — 50th Anniversary News

This week was also a big one when it comes to the 50th Anniversary. In Disney World, more 50th Anniversary decor has arrived.

Disney buses have gotten a 50th Anniversary makeover, as well as the Disney Skyliner.

Disney Cast Members are starting to get their 50th Anniversary name tags. And, in some of the most adorable news of this week, the first 50th Anniversary statues have arrived in Disney World!

So far, we’ve seen statues of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Lady and Tramp, and more.

4 — This Is Halloween

It might not be October yet, but Halloween is in full swing at Disney World and Disneyland. This week we got a first look at Disney’s new Mummy Mickey Halloween popcorn bucket as well as the glow-in-the-dark Halloween popcorn bucket that is now available in Disneyland!

In Disney World, the Jack Skellington Annual Passholder popcorn bucket has arrived, as well as one of the iconic cauldron popcorn buckets!

5 — The Monorail Station Has Reopened at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Also, this week the monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort reopened!

If you’ll be staying at this resort in the future, be sure to check out that updated monorail station and know that you can once again hop aboard the highway in the sky right from the hotel.

6 — A NEW Holiday Event is Coming to Disneyland

This week also brought us some exciting holiday news out of Disneyland! Recently, Disney announced that the NEW Disney Merriest Nites After Hours event will be coming to Disneyland this year.

The event will feature not 1, not 2, not 3…but 6(!!) different “merry parties” featuring fan-favorite characters like Miguel from Coco, Tiana, and more!

There will also be special photo opportunities, access to select rides with limited capacity throughout the park, specialty treats and merchandise, and more. Tickets will go on sale on September 14th and start at $165.
