There is a LOT going on at Disney’s Contemporary Resort…  .

There’s been a lot of construction there recently as The Wave…of American Flavors becomes a new restaurant, Steakhouse 71. And the rooms are in the process of getting an Incredibles theme! As a result of all the construction, we’ve seen a lot of scrims and construction walls throughout the hotel!

Yesterday, we showed you that the construction scrim on the top levels was starting to come down.

Well, today, the hotel is looking a little less like a mess as we saw many of those construction walls come down, including those around the lobby, which has reopened. Here’s what the lobby used to look like:

Here’s what it looks like now! Talk about drastically different. It’s way more light and open.

The former long front desk has now been broken up into smaller counters.

This sitting area is also more spacious and inviting — and check out that gorgeous Mary Blair-inspired mural!

Here’s another seating area in the lobby. Again, it’s so bright and themed with some more cool artwork.

And we also noticed that the old entrance of The Wave…of American Flavors has been transformed into the entrance of Steakhouse 71!

Steakhouse 71 opens on October 1st.

The construction at the Contemporary, though, is still not 100% complete. Some rooms are still being renovated.

However, a Cast Member told us the Club Level rooms reopened today, and the rest of the renovated rooms will open soon. We can’t wait to see them!
