What You’ll Need

Interested in making one yourself? Here’s what you’ll need:

  • One foam half-sphere
  • Two foam discs
  • One jar of foam smoother
  • Orange and yellow paint
  • One wire wreath form
  • One fall garland

To finish the craft, you’ll also need some common household items and tools, including a crafting knife, toothpicks, twist ties, and glue.

How It’s Done

  1. Draw Mickey Mouse’s face on the half-sphere. Carefully use your crafting knife to carve partially through the foam, pulling up excess bits from the mouth and the whites of Mickey’s eyes.
  2. Use your knife to cut the discs into Mickey’s ears.
  3. Finish the carved surfaces using the foam smoother. Give Mickey time to dry, and sand if necessary.
  4. Color your pumpkin with spray or acrylic paint. Use yellow in the carved sections to make your Mickey look like he’s glowing!
  5. Affix Mickey’s ears to his head using glue and toothpicks. They should lay very close to the flat side of the dome.
  6. Set Mickey to the side and grab your wire wreath form. Wrap the garland around the wire and use twist ties or string to hold it in place. Fill in gaps with extra foliage.
  7. Finally, run a twist tie through the back of Mickey’s head. Use it to connect Mickey to the wire wreath.

A little bit of pixie dust later and you’ve got your Mickey Halloween wreath!
