PHOTOS: New Pamphlet Breaks Down the Retirement of FastPass+ in Disney World

Disney recently announced that a new system would be replacing FastPass+ in Disney World soon.

Disney Genie+ will be a part of the new Genie planning system in the My Disney Experience app. While Genie is free, Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to make ride reservations in a similar way that you used to be able to using FastPass+. Only now, you will only be able to reserve one ride at a time, and you will enter the queue through the Lightning Lane instead of the FastPass+ lane (it’s the same lane — just renamed!). Today, we found more information about the old FastPass+ system while we were in the parks.

While in Magic Kingdom today, we were given a new leaflet that had information about FastPass+.

New Leaflet

It said that the FastPass+ service has now been retired, so they were using the leaflet to correct the language on the ticket.

FastPass+ Information

It went on to say that while FastPass+ is no longer available, they are excited to share new ways to experience the Theme Parks “now and in the future.” Disney is most likely referring to the Genie system, but it’s strange that they wouldn’t just mention that in the leaflet, as they have released a ton of information about the new service.

Why no info on Genie+?

We don’t have an official launch date for Disney Genie yet, but we do know it will be available sometime this fall. Stay tuned to DFB for updates!
