Halloween is now in full swing in Disneyland as the first Oogie Boogie Bash has arrived!
The separately ticketed event is held in Disney California Adventure Park on select nights from now until Halloween night. If you attend the party, you’ll see a spooky parade, characters in their Halloween costumes, get to go trick-or-treating, and you can try some exclusive, themed snacks! We visited last night for the first event of the season, and we’re sharing all the details on crowd levels and wait times.
People with tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash can enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3PM. The Bash officially starts at 6PM (which is when regular day guests will have to leave the park) and the event ends at 11PM! The opening night’s event was completely sold out (as are all of the nights for Oogie Boogie Bash), so it’s definitely interesting to see what the crowds look like!
Early in the Evening
When we first arrived, crowds were pretty average in the park. Many daytime guests were still wandering about through California Adventure.
Closer to the event’s start time, we got long lines outside of the park entrance. At this point, it was pretty crowded trying to get inside and things were a tad bit hectic.
Just remember to stay in your line and patiently wait it out — we’re all going to the same place!
Now it’s time to let the fun begin!
Lines for Halloween Offerings
As we started exploring Oogie Boogie Bash and checking out the special offerings, lines were already beginning to grow. The line to visit Agatha Harkness’s treat trail was pretty lengthy (and we waited in it three separate times before she finally came out for the evening!).
The same was true with the line to visit Cruella. This version of the character is made to match the one from the recent live-action film. Along with Sid from Toy Story, these three characters were some of the most popular of the night!
And if you wanted to visit the Villains Grove on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, we were met with a 40-minute posted wait time at one point in the evening! We were able to get through the line in 30 minutes, but that’s still a pretty long wait for a walk-through attraction.
As the evening went on, things started to thin out just a bit as the crowd dispersed throughout the park. It wasn’t really “empty” per se, but you could’ve definitely gotten a few rides done!
Some attractions were walk-ons, but even the biggest and most popular rides didn’t often have waits above 30 minutes. WEB Slingers in 25 minutes, yes, please!
That’s our look at the crowd levels and wait times on the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on the Halloween festivities.
