Space 220 finally opened yesterday in EPCOT!

We’ve been waiting literal YEARS for this futuristic restaurant to open, and the anticipation has been building ever since seeing new concept art, menu details, and a sneak peek inside. At last, we got to go inside yesterday and eat a meal! We saw some awesome details and ate delicious food. But, we weren’t the only ones eager to get inside, because there was an HOURS long line to get into Space 220 on opening day. But today, there might be a solution to that long line!
Space 220 is using a virtual line system today!

It was announced that the restaurant would only be taking walk-ins from September 20th through September 26th, so you can’t make an advanced dining reservation. However, today, we learned that Space 220 is using a same-day reservation system! You can wait in line at the restaurant to be placed into a virtual queue.

When you get up to the front and talk to a Cast Member with a tablet, they will ask you if you would like to eat lunch or dinner. Since we were one of the first people in line this morning, the Cast Member asked us what time we would like to eat. But, as the day goes on and more people get into the virtual line, Cast Members will just offer you the times they have available.

We got our return time for our virtual reservation and then were able to go about our day at EPCOT until it was time for us to eat! Space 220 doesn’t open until 12PM today, but once they do, you can also wait in line for first available for the lounge and bar!

This is a HUGE improvement compared to the massive lines we saw yesterday for the opening. Some of our reporters even waited in line for over 4 hours!
