Disney World is full of amazing food options — we would know because we eat there EVERY DAY.

So when we come across something we haven’t had before, we just HAVE to try it out, even when it’s a little tucked away to-go location in the middle of a resort. And that’s exactly where we found ourselves recently: Geyser Point Bar & Grill To-Go, which is basically a counter-service location tied into Geyser Point Bar & Grill (we’re big fans!).

This location was closed when Geyser Point first reopened but has since opened its to-go window once again a while back. We hadn’t stopped by since they reopened so we’re taking a look at the menu to see what fast food options you can nab at this lesser-known spot! 

Atmosphere

This little to-go spot is tucked in right next to Geyser Point Bar & Grill, but it’s easy to miss — if you don’t head down towards the water in that area, you would probably never even see it. And as we previously mentioned, this is counter service, so you order via a counter, although this location does have Mobile Order available, too (though note there it’s treated more like Table Service to-go!).

You’ll find two tables near the water with umbrellas, with four more tables closer by without. If you plan on sticking around to eat, grab one of the umbrella tables near the water — it’s so tranquil there, and there’s even a nice breeze, even on those hot Florida days. The whole vibe here is just SO relaxed. Note that there is NO indoor dining available at the grab-and-go spot (you’ll need to dine at Geyser Point Bar & Grill if that’s a priority).

…along with a station to pick up plastic silverware, napkins, and condiments.

Once your order is ready, it’s packaged up in to-go boxes and bags. So you could easily take it back to your hotel room if you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge or take it somewhere else if you don’t want to eat outside.

We decided to stick around and take in the whole Wilderness Lodge vibe to enjoy our meal — so let’s get to the food!

Eats

The menu here comes directly from Geyser Point Bar & Grill, so it’s not your typical counter service fare. Instead, you’ve got options like Handcrafted Cheese and Charcuterie, Handcrafted Crab Cakes, the infamous Bison Bacon Cheeseburger, and Roasted Salmon. Beverages are standard fountain drinks.

For the sake of being able to actually read the menu, we’re going to show you the Geyser Point menu, but note it’s not exaaaactly the same. First up, there are smaller bites. These match what’s available at the full Bar and Grill. We’ve seen some items hop from appetizer to entree or vice versa, but basically the prices and items remain largely the same.

Rustic Fare (Entrees) is where things differ (slightly). You’ll find the same burger, salmon, and Portobello Salad, except this to-go location only offers the salad with Steak, not Chicken or Salmon (if you ask they might be able to serve you that, though).

Kids’ meals include predictable favorites like Chicken Strips and a Cheeseburger, or healthier options like a Finger Food Sampler.

Dessert was a bit different from our last visit to Geyser Point as well. The seasonal pie remains (more on that in a bit) but the Apple Cider Sorbet and Campfire Mousse are new to us.

We ordered up quite a bit of food!

We started with an Appetizer, the Crispy Salmon Croquettes, which are served with a Miso Tartar Sauce for $13. Even if you’re not a HUGE fan of seafood, you can likely still enjoy these. They were crispy with a nice little crunch and definitely not overly fishy tasting. These were not what we expected, but in a good way.

The Miso Tartar Sauce has just enough spice to wake up your taste buds. You also get fresh Radish and Arugula with the croquettes. And they’re served with a lemon you can squeeze over them. We were surprised at how many croquettes we got, and honestly, you could make a light meal out of this portion size.

But we weren’t done yet! Next up was the Smoked Turkey Sandwich for $12, which includes Lettuce, Tomato, Cranberry Mayonnaise, and Apple Slaw. Oh, hey, this is Thanksgiving served up between two slices of Multigrain Bread! And it’s served with Housemade Chips. This was no ordinary sandwich — it was DELICIOUS. The turkey was juicy and we got a nice crunch from the slaw.

You know how turkey sandwiches just seem to taste BETTER with, you know, real turkey? Not that presliced shrink-wrapped stuff from the grocery store? (Shocking, we know!) THIS. That’s this. The turkey was thick cut and satisfying to chomp into. The Cranberry Mayo also added just a nice hint of sweetness and the right amount of creamy texture to each bite. It added some interest without tasting like you were licking a whole can of cranberry sauce. The bread also tasted super fresh. If you love Thanksgiving flavors, this is the sandwich for you! And look at all that turkey!

The Chips were crunchy — almost TOO crunchy — and they didn’t have a lot of flavor. They were a little greasy and pretty bland. We usually love us some Disney World chips but these were underwhelming. It was likely a bad batch. We had a choice between chips, coleslaw, or French fries, and we kinda’ wished we’d gone with something else.

And now on to dessert — and we didn’t get just one dessert, we got THREE (no regrets, y’all!). First up is the Campfire Mousse for $7. We’ve seen campfire brownies, campfire cupcakes, and now we can add mousse to the list! BOY, was this rich — the mousse is more like a dark chocolate mousse and the little marshmallow-looking things are White Chocolate-tasting hard candy rocks. They’re supposed to be rocks around a firepit!

This wasn’t super sweet, but honestly, we weren’t too blown away by this dessert. This is one of those treats that looks way better than it tastes. It’s Instagram-worthy, but that’s about it. It’s kind of just your average chocolate mousse otherwise. IF you’re itching for something chocolatey it’ll do, but we’d recommend heading inside to Roaring Fork for better options.

We also tried the Seasonal Pie, which in this case, is the Chocolate Strawberry Pie for $7. Now, THIS dessert was a hit — chocolate and strawberry together is a great flavor combo and we LOVED the Strawberry Filling on the inside. This dessert had a great texture AND taste.

The Chocolate Topping tasted like chocolate ganache, and it was pretty sweet, but it worked with the strawberry flavors (there’s even a strawberry on top, too). The strawberry was a bright pop in the form of a strawberry jam under all that chocolate. This dessert actually lived up to its looks, even when it started to melt in the heat.

Finally, we got the Apple Cider Sorbet with Berries for $6. In comparison to the other desserts, the presentation is a little lacking, and the taste didn’t do much for us either. Womp womp…it’s served in a prepackaged cup with a sad cup of berries to go with it.

But if you love apples, you might adore this — the flavor fresh and appley It tastes like a glass of fresh cider. But it’s SO sweet, like way too much for us. Although the berries add a bit of tartness, it’s not enough to cut through all that sweet. It might not look it, but this unassuming tiny cup of sorbet was a total sugar bomb.

So of the three desserts, we only really loved one.

Nosh or Not

Head on over to Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go if…

• You’re staying at Wilderness Lodge and want to grab a quick bite to eat.
• You want table service quality food, but you don’t want to waste time in a restaurant or pay high prices.
• You want to grab a quick bite to eat somewhere quiet and away from the usual hustle and bustle of Disney World.

Skip Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go if…

• You’re not staying in the area — and if you’re going to make the hike to Wilderness Lodge, you should just probably go to Geyser Point Bar & Grill instead to get a table and some drinks too.
• You have picky eaters in your party — even the plain foods like the Turkey Sandwich or Burger have some unique components to them that pickier eaters might not enjoy.
• You want a table service restaurant experience — the food here is table service quality, but the experience is not.

Overall

Sometimes you just want table service food, but you don’t want to sit in a table service restaurant to get it. If that’s what you’re going for, the Geyser Point Bar & Grill To-Go spot is perfect. It has even got a great atmosphere to dine in the area, especially if you want to eat in a calm and peaceful environment. We’re not sure it’s worth traveling across Disney World for, especially when you can get the same food AND a table service experience next door at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Would we personally go grab a table and a few drinks to go with all this goodness next door over to-go? Sure, but for guests at the hotel looking for a meal in their room or a bite by the pool, this is a fantastic option. 

Geyser Point Bar & Grill To-Go is also a pretty good value, especially considering the quality and amount of food you get for your money — we found portion sizes to be generous with everything that we tried. Not every item here is a home run, though, but that could be said pretty much about any Disney World restaurant.

Considering you can get the same Charcuterie and Bison Bacon Cheeseburger here that you can at Geyser Point, the To-Go spot is almost a no-brainer if you’re looking to get fed quickly without all the fuss.
