If you’ve been following DFB, you know that a LOT has happened in Magic Kingdom recently.
But just in case you missed some of the updates, we’re going to look at everything that’s changed in this park in the last few days! Let’s see what’s new with food, merchandise, construction, and crowds in the Magic Kingdom.
Most of our updates are with new merchandise and decorations, but we always take a look at the food as well.
Magic Kingdom Food Update
The Back Side of Water treat was new at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland a couple of months ago, in honor of the Jungle Cruise ride’s updates and the new movie.
This treat is still available at Sunshine Tree Terrace, but it’s not on Mobile Order at this time. If you’re hoping to get a refreshing (and very sweet) treat to celebrate the 8th Wonder of the World, never fear. You can order it in person (just not on the app) for $6.29. And you can order it in a cup instead of as a float!
Over near Adventureland’s entrance, the Spring Roll Cart is still closed. This spot has been closed for well over a week now, and we’ve heard no news about when it might be returning.
We’re anxious to get back to those delicious Cheeseburger and Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls, so we’ll let you know as soon as we see that it’s back.
Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
Now we’re getting to the big updates. The Magic Kingdom got more than 100 new items of merchandise yesterday, most of it with a 50th Anniversary theme. We found all of the goods at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.
There were THREE new pairs of Minnie Ears, all celebrating Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. The white and gold pair are $34.99, and they light up!
One pair was by Loungefly, with Disney characters dressed in their 50th Anniversary outfits all over the ears and a sparkly gold bow in the middle. This set is $39.99.
The third Minnie ears were sparkly EARidescent colors, with a big gold bow covered in rhinestones in the middle. This pair is $39.99 as well.
We also found a new EARidescent Starbucks tumbler at the Emporium, which was $39.99.
The tumbler had a “50th” logo on the front with the Cinderella Castle inside the “0.” There was tons of new merchandise, including pins, t-shirts, jewelry, and much, much more. You can find it all at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.
See ALL the 100 NEW pieces of 50th anniversary merchandise here!
But that’s not all the new merchandise at the Emporium. We’re switching celebrations now and looking at the Halloween goods! The Nightmare Before Christmas Minnie ears arrived at Disney World last week, and they’re selling out fast.
You can get them at the Emporium for $39.99, but you’ll want to hurry!
If your Halloween celebrations include lots of warm drinks like apple cider and hot cocoa, we found the perfect mug for the spooky season. There’s a new Hocus Pocus mug in the Emporium.
This glow-in-the-dark mug has decorations from Hocus Pocus and a large image of Binx on the back! You can get it now for $19.99.
Across the way at Uptown Jewelers, we found some amazing popcorn-themed Minnie ears! We’ve seen these in Disneyland before, and we’ve also admired the matching mini-backpack. But now you can get these popcorn-scented Minnie Ears in Disney World as well!
The ears are translucent and filled with bits of popcorn, and the bow has popcorn bucket decorations all over it. You can get them now at Uptown Jewelers for $39.99. These will also be available at the Emporium, but that gift shop was already sold out of them when we went. The Cast Members told us they’re expecting a re-stock soon!
While we were at Uptown Jewelers, we also spotted a new Pumpkin Mickey Pandora charm. This charm has a Mickey Jack-O-Lantern on one side and “BOO” written on the other.
You can get the little pumpkin Mickey charm at Uptown Jewelers now for $55.
Speaking of fancy shops on Main Street, U.S.A., we stopped in at Crystal Arts and saw the 50th Anniversary Tiara on display. This tiara has Mickey ears and the 50th Anniversary logo on it, plus a LOT of sparkly bling. It’s available for pre-order for $85.
You can pre-order this tiara to have it delivered in mid to late November for a shipping fee of $8.50, or you can pre-order it and pick it up at the Disney Springs Crystal Arts location around mid-November. Cast Members have said that there won’t be a ton of availability, so you should pre-order it now if you want one! The only way to get it is to be in Disney World and pre-order it there.
Over in Tomorrowland at Star Traders, we found a new phone case for $29.99 that’s also perfect for the upcoming spooky season.
The case has little images of Mickey and Minnie Jack-O-Lanterns, ghosts, candy, and more. Also at Star Traders in Tomorrowland, we spotted a new Halloween long-sleeve t-shirt with words like “scream,” “boo,” and “scare” written all over in graffiti font.
You can get this shirt for $42.99. There was also a t-shirt that said: “I’m just here for the candy” with pictures of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy looking scary! This tee was $36.99.
And there was one more Halloween clothing item at Star Traders that we spotted — a “Haunt You Later” Minnie Mouse Sweatshirt.
You can get this sweatshirt now for $69.99. Nearby these new Halloween items, we spotted some black crocs that would go perfectly with another new Halloween item we saw.
Because we found some Halloween croc pins! These come with five pins, including some spookified Disney snacks.
They’re $17.99 at Star Traders in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
The mountains of new merchandise weren’t the only 50th Anniversary updates — we also saw new banners up at the Cinderella Castle!
These banners have the 50th logo against a pretty EARidescent background, and some of them feature artwork by the famous Disney artist Mary Blair.
You’ll find images of her concept art for Disney’s Cinderella on the outside banners, and simple decorative banners closer to the Castle.
While you’re near the castle, you can also take a look at the new Cast Member Dedication Plaque in between the Mickey and Minnie Mouse gold character statues.
Disney dedicated these statues to all Cast Members, past, present, and future. But the 50th decorations don’t stop there! Outside the main entrance, in front of the Main Street Railroad Station, you can find topiaries of Mickey and Minnie Mouse with a big “50th” birthday cake between them.
This will be one of the first 50th Anniversary decorations you’ll see on your way into the Magic Kingdom, but it will definitely not be the last.
We found more Lightning Lane signs in the Magic Kingdom as well, including one at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train…
…Splash Mountain…
…and Pirates of the Caribbean.
These lanes will be the new “FastPass” lanes when Genie+ and Pay-Per-Ride begin in the parks. The new Genie+ and Pay-Per-Ride system is supposed to begin in Disney World this Fall, but Disney hasn’t announced when exactly they’ll start.
Speaking of Splash Mountain, all of the scaffolding that we’ve seen over the last few weeks has been removed from the ride.
This was probably used for some repainting or routine maintenance on the ride, but now it’s gone and Splash is looking better than ever.
Over at the Emporium, you might notice that some merchandise has been moving around. The old Pin Wall is now home to some home decor items.
You’ll find the pins across from the cash registers towards the back of the store.
The Games and Stationery area was replaced with more home decor merchandise, and you’ll find the games and stationery scattered around the store.
At the Christmas Shoppe, you’ll find some Christmas trees around for decorations, with ornaments hanging from their branches as a display.
The display case that had personalized ornaments in it is now gone and has been replaced with a personalization desk.
Magic Kingdom Crowds Update
We stopped by some Magic Kingdom rides to see how long the wait times were as well. We saw a 10-minute wait at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin…
…a 5-minute wait at Dumbo…
…and a 50-minute wait at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
That’s all for our Magic Kingdom update! Keep following DFB, and we’ll let you know about all the Disney World news.
