What’s New at Magic Kingdom: Lightning Lane Signs and More 50th Anniversary Decor

Hello, DFB friends! It’s time to go over what’s new at Magic Kingdom!

As Disney World’s 50th Anniversary approaches, we’re seeing more and more updates in the park! We stopped by the park recently to see what other new things we could spot. Let’s go over everything new in Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom Food Updates

Halloween treats are now available at Big Top Souvenirs! We saw Halloween-themed apples and cupcakes and cookies, oh my!

Lots of Halloween Treats

We had to try the Pumpkin King-inspired treat — a Jack Skellington Rice Krispie! This treat is $5.49 and VERY photogenic.

This spooky rice krispie treat is covered in a thick layer of white chocolate with more chocolate used for Jack’s features.

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates

When we visited Magic Kingdom today, we noticed a brand new 50th Anniversary sign right in front of the Main Street, U.S.A. Train Station!

NEW 50th Anniversary Sign

The sign is gold and EARidescent, and it reads “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.”

ANOTHER item in the park has also received a 50th anniversary makeover! The Main Street, U.S.A. clock is now shiny and gold, with a “50” on top of the clock.

The clock is also decked out with new banners, which advertise Citizen as an official sponsor of Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.

See more photos of the Main Street clock here!

While you’re on Main Street, U.S.A., if you look up you might notice some special lighting equipment on top of the buildings.

Can you spot them?

Here’s a closer look, if you couldn’t see them. We noticed them over the Emporium

A closer look

…and in other spots along Main Street, U.S.A. These lights might be used for parts of the 50th Anniversary, and possibly the new fireworks show coming to Magic Kingdom, Disney Enchantment.

Also here!

We know that part of the Disney Enchantment show will involve immersive lighting and projection effects on Main Street, U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle, so we have to wonder whether these lights will be part of it.

At various attractions in the park we also found NEW Lightning Lane signs.

The sign is up, but the lane is not open yet!

“Lightning Lane” is what Disney will be calling the FastPass+ lanes under the new paid systems that will replace FastPass+ — Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection.

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Updates

Emporium

In the Emporium, there are now characters from the Pixar film Up as puppets! We found Dug and Kevin plush puppets available. Dug looks ready to spot some squirrels.

The Kevin puppet looks positively delighted to be there.

Tomorrowland Light and Power Co.

We found more Marvel phone cases in Tomorrowland Light and Power Co.! Many of them were inspired by the new Disney+ show, What If…? There’s zombie Captain America, an evil Dr. Strange
