Weather in Florida can be pretty unpredictable, which is why we always recommend that you come prepared when you’re visiting Disney World!
Especially in the summertime, there’s almost always a chance for a little bit of rain. This week, there’s more than just a small chance that we’ll see rainy weather in the parks!
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a system that’s projected to travel over Central Florida this week.
Right now, this system is just “disorganized showers and thunderstorms in the Gulf of Mexico” (orlandosentinel.com), but there’s a small chance that it could grow into a tropical storm. The NHC believes this is unlikely, and instead, Central Florida will likely just see some heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.
There is a hurricane going on in the Atlantic right now (Hurricane Larry), but it’s not projected to hit Florida at all.
Over the next few days, starting Tuesday, September 7th, the chance for rain and thunderstorms in Central Florida is about 50% to 60%. By Saturday, that projection drops to about 40%, according to the National Weather Service.
So make sure you’re packing for rain over the next few days with ponchos, umbrellas, and extra socks!
