Disney Genie just launched in Disney World, and we’re bringing you along with us as we try out all the new features.

Genie is the new planning tool that is available through My Disney Experience. It also includes Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections, which have replaced FastPass+ in the parks and cost money. We already knew about the cost of Genie+ and select Individual Attractions, but we discovered an unexpected cost today when purchasing these features through Genie.

Genie+ gives you access to make reservations for the Lightning Lanes of 46 attractions, but you can only book one attraction at a time. You also cannot re-ride the same attraction using Genie+ — if you want to go on the attraction again, you have to use the regular standby line. Genie+ is $15 per day, per person to use in Disney World.

However, when you go to purchase Genie+, you will also have tax added on to the total price. This brought our total to $15.98.

So, Genie+ is technically almost $16 with tax!

The same goes for purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes for high demand rides like Rise of the Resistance or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. When we bought our Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance, it was listed at $15, but $0.98 was added on in tax bringing the total to $15.98.

Remember, the Individual Attraction Selections all have different prices and the prices can change depending on the day. Here is a look at the prices for each ride today:
