We really missed the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom when it was closed for refurbishment.
But now that it has reopened, we’ve been able to check out its new look, new treats, and new customizable popcorn option! There are also some great details outside and throughout the space, telling a bit more about the spot’s backstory.
There’s so much to see in the Confectionery, and recently we discovered a secret detail you may have totally missed! Inside the store, we found a display that shows the original packaging of some of our favorite candies, including Twix, Skittles, M&M’S, and more!

The display also reveals some historical details about the original versions of each candy.
Did you know that the first M&M’S only came in five colors? They were brown, yellow, green, red, and violet. Today there are more than 24 hues!
Think you know all there is to know about Snickers? Well, did you realize that these candy bars were named after a horse? It was actually the Mars family’s favorite horse from their Tennessee farm!
In more fun facts, the name of Twix actually comes from combining the words “twin” and “biscuits.”
Ever thought baking cookies took long? Well, did you know it actually takes nearly eight hours to make Skittles?!
And while you might have thought that the Milky Way was named after our galaxy, it actually it named for its flavor inspiration — a malted milkshake.
When it comes to the 3 Musketeers, you might not have known that it was originally introduced as a trio of smaller bars with different flavors!
How cool, right? That’s the beauty of Disney World — there are so many fun details to spot everywhere. Be sure to look for these details the next time you pop into the Main Street Confectionery (we know, it’s hard to think of anything but the treats when that wonderful smell first hits you when you walk in!).
