The global pandemic has continued to impact travel into the United States.
Restrictions have remained in place for foreign visitors and in August, the European Union removed the U.S. from its list of safe travel destinations. But recently, the White House has made announcements about lifting travel restrictions for foreign visitors. And now, we have an official date for when the restrictions will be lifted.
The White House is set to announce that it will lift travel restrictions for fully vaccinated foreign travelers starting on November 8th, 2021, according to Reuters.
There have been restrictions since early 2020 on non-essential travelers due to the global pandemic. The White House announced earlier this week that it would be lifting restrictions at the Canadian and Mexican borders for fully vaccinated travelers and said back in September that restrictions would be lifted on air travelers from 33 countries.
Unvaccinated foreign travelers will not be allowed to enter the U.S. via the Canadian and Mexican borders, according to Reuters.
If traveling by air, visitors will have to show proof of vaccination and proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test before boarding the flight. Foreign visitors entering the country via a land border will have to show proof of vaccination, but not proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test.
