Disneyland’s newest store is for all the people who LOVE to shop for the holidays!
Plaza Point is a NEW year-round holiday shop that will feature all the Disney holiday goodies of your dreams and even change throughout the year to feature other holidays. Plaza Point opened yesterday and we were able to visit for a look inside today! Come inside with us!
Plaza Point is located on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland, and it fits right into the iconic street with lots of Victorian details, like in the window artwork.
You can catch a scene of women holding hands and waving in the snow…
…or a beautiful snowy scene of a little girl holding a doll.
A sign outside advertises the customized ornaments you can get at Plaza Point year-round.
The inside of Plaza Point is really warm and decorated beautifully for the holidays!
It’s filled with holiday items inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas…
…Mickey and Minnie (of course), and more!
And you can’t forget about those ornaments! They were ALL over the store, from Mickey-shaped ornaments…
…to ornaments inspired by Disney icons like the Monorail! According to a Cast Member we asked, most of the merchandise currently inside the store is not really new to Disneyland, so you might see some holiday merchandise you’ve seen before.
If you take a look around the shop, you will find nods to the fictional Plaza Point proprietor Miss Evelyn Toro, who is based on the real mother of Disneyland Resort Enhancement Manager Dawn Pipal-Keehne. The fictional story for Evelyn Toro is that she traveled all over the world to collect special holiday items.
You will also find evidence of the real Evelyn’s Puerto Rican heritage around the store, through decor such as a statuette for Three Kings Day, a fictional Puerto Rican magazine cover, and photos of flan that the real Evelyn is known for! Pipal-Keehne said, “If you look around the room, it’s all about her love of holidays, culture and diversity — and that truly is my mom.”
In an effort to reflect diversity and inclusion, Pipal-Keehne also said that they created Victorian artwork and decor in various skin colors. One of the window displays we shared above, showing two women holding hands, is also inspired by Pipal-Keehne’s real-life wife and the LGBTQ community.
We’re excited to see how this new space in Disneyland changes with the upcoming holiday seasons. Keep reading DFB for more Disneyland news!
