REVIEW: A Villain Cupcake With Toasted Marshmallow Filling?! Thank Ya, Disney World!

We’ve been keeping track of all the Halloween treats available around Disney World.

Cinderella Pumpkins

So far we’ve seen some chocolate Haunted Mansion eclairs, an adorable Halloween lunch box tart, just about all the pumpkin spice we can handle, and much, much more. Now we’re checking out an old favorite that’s returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so…be prepared. (Sorry. We had to.)

Last year, the Scar Cupcake was new in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, appearing at Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus. This year, you’ll find the villainous treat at Flame Tree Barbecue and Creature Comforts

Flame Tree Barbecue

We stopped by Flame Tree Barbecue to see if the treat has changed at all since last year. The Scar Cupcake is made with a Red Velvet Cake that has a Toasted Marshmallow filling. It’s topped with Chocolate Marshmallow frosting, Chocolate Pebbles, and White Chocolate flames with an edible icing picture of Scar.

Scar!

Last year, we thought the cake was a little bit dry, but overall it was a tasty, albeit very sweet, treat. This year, we found him quite refreshing, maybe because of all the blue 50th anniversary cupcakes we’ve been eating lately!

Be prepared!

There are LOTS of cupcakes all over Disney World, but we thought this one was pretty tasty, even if you’re NOT a red velvet cake fan. The marshmallow filling is the highlight of this dessert, although there was almost too much of it. On the other hand, we would’ve loved more frosting!

Inside the Scar cupcake

You can find the Scar Cupcake at Flame Tree Barbecue and Creature Comforts for $5.99 now! It’ll be available from October 1st through November 4th this year.
