REVIEW: It Wouldn’t Be a Disney World Celebration Without Blue Curacao and a Glow Cube!

Did you pack your stretchy pants? Good! For Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, 150+ new food and drink items are set to be released, so there’s a lot of new things to try!

Have you seen the new banners?

We’ve been making our way through Disney World to try a whole bunch of these new items. Next on our list are two new cocktails featuring a signature Disney World component — a souvenir glow cube!

It isn’t a Disney World celebration if there isn’t a drink with Blue Curacao and a glow cube, right?! We kid, we kid…but let’s just say we could see this drink coming from a million miles away seeing as Blue Curacao and glow cubes have become a recurring theme in Disney World. 😆

Tune-In Lounge Cocktail Menu

And the Magical Beacon Cocktail fits the mold perfectly! This new drink is made with Gin, Blue Curacao, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, Orgeat (Almond) Syrup, Lemon, Hibiscus Grenadine, and (of course) a Souvenir Glow Cube.

Magical Beacon Cocktail

If you’re wondering where to find this drink, you can get it at many table-service restaurants, lounges and pool bars throughout Disney World. Today, we grabbed the drink at the Tune-In Lounge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Glow cube!

The drink’s color is a beautiful blue, reminiscent of some of the bright blues we’ve seen featured in Disney’s 50th Anniversary merchandise. In terms of flavor, it was pretty dry and not sweet, and if you taste anything, it’s gin. This drink is not really for you if you want something super fun and flavorful.

Our eyes are malfunctioning

If you want to grab this drink, be sure to check for it at table service restaurants, lounges, and pool bars around Disney World. You’ll be able to find it at a variety of spots, priced at $17.

BLUE

We also tried the new Shimmer Over the Moon cocktail, which is made with Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine, Amaretto, Falernum Syrup, Pineapple Juice, and Club Soda, and served with a Souvenir Glow Cube for $14!

Shimmer Over the Moon

In contrast with the Magical Beacon Cocktail’s very blue glow, this drink glows GOLD. Check out that shimmer!

Gold for days

This cocktail has got a KICK to it. It’s also very heavy on the apple flavors, which we happen to love. We enjoyed this drink more than the Magical Beacon Cocktail!

It glows!

Here’s a video of the Shimmer Over the Moon Cocktail shining in the sun!

We’ll keep an eye out for more 50th anniversary treats, merchandise, and news, so be sure to come back for more updates!
