What do you like to drink at home or when you visit Disney World? Water (always important), POG Juice, coffee?
Well, if your answer to that question is “Coca-Cola” or Coca-Cola products, then there’s something you should know about.
According to CNBC, the CEO of Coca-Cola, James Quincey, recently said that he expects to see “sporadic shortages” of Coca-Cola products on grocery store shelves through 2022.
According to CNBC, Coke is “dealing with snarls in the supply chain and higher commodity costs, which have resulted in some shortages.”
Quincey shared that while shortages may continue through 2022, they’ll likely decrease over time as things start to improve. CNBC shared that the company has been using its “global scale and long-term partnerships to navigate issues within its supply chain,” but it hasn’t been able to mitigate all of the challenges.
Quincey shared that some of the issues Coke is facing include “labor shortages, spiking gas costs in Europe and a plastic plant in Brazil that burst into flames.”
We’ve seen some supplier issues impact Disney in the past, like when the brand of ketchup was changed at select locations, though that situation seemed to change and evolve rather rapidly. Could these potential Coca-Cola shortages impact Disney World? We’ll be on the lookout for updates.
