Attention Disney Runners! 🏃 A NEW Race Weekend Is Coming to Disney World

If you’re a runner who loves Disney, you probably already know all about the runDisney events.

There are several races during the runDisney season (about November through April each year), including the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, and the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Now another full weekend is joining the group, with three races that are themed after popular Disney attractions.

During the new Springtime Surprise Weekend, you can run in the Expedition Everest 5K, the Race for the Taste 10K, and the Tower of Terror 10-Miler. If some of these races sound familiar, you’re not crazy. The races are all similar to ones from the past, but they’ve each got a little twist this time. There is also a runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge, where participants can run in all three races and get a special challenge medal.

The races all take place between April 1st and April 3rd, 2022. The Expedition Everest 5K is on April 1st. It will feature a nighttime 5K race with a scavenger hunt that takes place during the race. Registration for the 5K costs $100.

The Race for the Taste 10K is on April 2nd and will be themed after the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure from EPCOT. The 10K will cost $135. And the Tower of Terror 10-Miler (on April 3rd) is similar to the race of the past, but it’s going to be in the morning instead of at night. The 10-Miler will be $190.

If you want to run in all three races, you can do the Challenge for $445. Runners can also sign up to join the sunrise yoga in front of the Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom.

If you’d prefer to do the races from home, you can join a virtual race, where you’ll complete the race on your own course and be sent a medal, t-shirt, and other goodies. These will range in price from $75 to $305, depending on the race(s) you choose.
