There’s usually no shortage of construction projects going on around Walt Disney World.
Whether it’s a quick refurbishment to an outdoor dining area, some new paint, or even a brand new attraction, you’ll likely stumble upon a construction wall or two when you’re visiting the parks and resorts. But, here at DFB, we keep you updated on all the progress going on so that there are no surprises when you arrive. And, this week we’ve got a look at the refurbishments on a fan-favorite Magic Kingdom attraction, a demolished ride, and more — let’s get to it!
Magic Kingdom
Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Last month, Disney closed the iconic Magic Kingdom attraction, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, so that they could add a brand new scene inspired by Pixar’s Coco. But, the changes weren’t just on the inside — Disney also took the opportunity to spruce up the exterior a bit too! It went from the bright yellow sign that we once knew…
…to a light blue…
…to a dark blue with some light blue accents…
…and now it’s almost DONE!
The attraction is now reopen with a NEW Coco scene in the park.
So guests can enjoy both the new sign and the new scene!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Primeval Whirl
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we marked the end of an era as the last bits of what once was Primeval Whirl were completely removed from the park. Now, all that stands are the giant construction walls that still block the area for now.
Disney still hasn’t announced what they plan to replace the attraction with, but stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Riviera Resort
We also stopped over at Disney’s Riviera Resort and noticed that Le Petit Cafe had some construction going on. This is a Quick Service spot where you can find freshly brewed coffee and lattes in the morning and hors d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails in the evening.
We spoke with a Cast Member who shared that they are currently in the process of redoing the floors and “freshening them up.” It is still open for guests in the meantime, but there are a few more construction tarps to get around if you’re headed here.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
And, lastly, there’s still some work going on around Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. We’ve seen a few sidewalks closed off throughout the past few weeks here as Disney replaces some of the gravel sidewalks and it seems that work is still continuing. There are still plenty of ways to navigate around it though!
And, that’s it for all the construction progress from this week! Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for all the latest updates so stay tuned to DFB for more!
