The global health crisis has continued to affect Disney World over the past few months.

This summer, Disney reintroduced the indoor mask mandate in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Now, the CDC’s recommendations for the Walt Disney World area have seen an update. Let’s take a look.

Data from the CDC has officially placed Orange County, Florida (one of the two counties in which Disney World is located) into the Moderate Tier of Community Transmission for COVID-19, down from the Substantial Tier.

For counties in the Substantial Tier, it is recommended that everyone (vaccinated and unvaccinated) wear a mask in public, indoor settings. In the Moderate Tier, however, only unvaccinated people are recommended to wear a mask in public, indoor settings.

Disney World is also partially located in Osceola County which remains in the Substantial Tier of Community Transmission.

At this time, Disney World’s indoor mask mandates align with the CDC recommendations for a county in the Substantial Tier of Community Transmission. Though part of Disney World is technically in a Moderate Tier county, part of the resort remains in a Substantial Tier county.
