Imagineer Zach Riddley made another Instagram post today documenting the installation of the greeter structure at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Our reporters were on the scene to see the installation.
Above is the photo from inside the construction site posted by Zach Riddley. Here’s what the Imagineer had to say”
“I am excited to share even more progress today from EPCOT as our exterior construction continues on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
As we highlighted yesterday, our team from Walt Disney Imagineering and our partners installed the first metallic panels for the facade (shrouded in protective sheathing after we were able to get our first look).
And this afternoon we have another major element installed on site – our new greeter structure, seen here as our crane was lifting the large horizontal roof element into place.
This massive new structure will serve as our principal entry point and be where Cast Members greet all Terrans who are here to behold the Treasures of Xandar that await inside.
If you look closely we are starting to reveal some of the sleek design details that will define the attraction aesthetic – including a first view of the striking purple color that serves as an accent throughout the outside and inside of the attraction.”
Below, you can see the installation in progress from inside EPCOT.
