Potatoes AND Cookies? Only Plastic Cheese Could Make This Disney World Location Better

One of the best parts of the holidays in Disney World has finally arrived.

EPCOT

The International Festival of the Holidays in EPCOT features several Holiday Kitchens, which are booths around the park that have festive snacks, treats, and drinks from around the world. You can taste Thanksgiving and Christmas snacks at the American Holiday Table, find various holiday donuts at the Donut Box, and even follow the smell of delicious cooked nuts over to the new Chestnuts & Good Cheer booth. We’re visiting a returning favorite now, so let’s head in to see if it’s as good as we remember!

The L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen is located over by the Morocco pavilion in World Showcase. This booth was new back in 2018, and it’s had a very similar menu each year since. We’re not complaining — we’ve had some very tasty dishes at this spot, including one that made Best of the Fest last year.

The menu is inspired by traditional Hanukkah dishes, like Latkes and Sufganiyot. Let’s take a look at this year’s offerings.

Menu

You’ll find eats like Pastrami on Rye, Latkes, Sufganiyot, and the Black and White Cookie on the menu this year.

And over on the drinks side, check out the Hanukkah Beer and Blue Cosmo Cocktail. All of the items on the menu are returning from years past.

Eats

Last year, we loved the Pastrami on Rye, which comes with house-made pickles and deli mustard. The bread makes this sandwich beautiful, with a marbled pattern. You can get it for $5.25.

You can find the returning Smoked Salmon Potato Latkes here for $5.50 each. This dish is a potato pancake with a pile of smoked salmon and sour cream on top. And as a bonus, it’s gluten-free as well.

The traditional Potato Latkes are simple potato pancakes with a drizzle of sour cream on top. We really loved this dish because honestly, what could go wrong with potatoes and sour cream?! It has a great texture, with a little bit of a crunch on the edges. The sour cream reminded us of a tangy dill sauce. This is available for $4.

And don’t forget to check out some of the returning desserts, like the Sufganiyot, which are mini jelly-filled donuts. You can get three for $3.50.

And finally, there’s the Black and White Cookie, which is a returning treat to the Holiday Cookie Stroll this year. In the past, we’ve had mixed feelings about this treat, but this year it was considerably better! It’s very soft and has a nice citrus flavor — that’s a big improvement. You can try one for $2.50.

As far as drinks go, you can get Hanukkah Beer for $5 for 6oz and $9 for 12oz. This is Shmaltz Brewing Company Chanukah Hanukkah Pass the Beer, from Clifton Park, NY.

The Blue Cosmo Cocktail is back again, for $11. This cocktail is a mix of vodka and Blue Curaçao, so it’s a very bright blue color.

We knew Disney would figure out a way to sneak Blue Curaçao into the festival somehow!

Overall

There are some delicious options available here, and we definitely recommend stopping by to try the Pastrami on Rye and the Potato Latkes — they’re classics! If you’re hoping to do the Holiday Cookie Stroll this year, then you’ll be happy to know that the Black and White Cookie is actually a treat that we recommend. All in all, we had a pretty delicious experience here!
