REVIEW: A New Snickers Cookie? Aww, Disney, You Shouldn’t Have. (No. Really. You Shouldn’t Have!)

Hello from EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion!

Yukon Holiday Kitchen

We’ve been making our way around the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays today to try all of the new eats and drinks plus our returning favorites! So far, we’ve brought you a look at cheese fondue (YUM), funnel cake, and candied nuts, and now we’ve made our way over to Canada to see what the returning Yukon Holiday Kitchen has to offer!

Menu

This year, the Yukon Holiday Kitchen features a variety of returning seafood and beef dishes, plus both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options for the season. This location is also once again part of the popular Cookie Stroll and where you can pick up the Snickers-Doodle Cookie.

But, how do this booth’s NEW drinks compare to the rest of the menu? And is it still a must-do stop on your trip around World Showcase? Let’s find out!

Food

First up on the menu is the returning Seared Scallops with Parsnip Silk, Apple Chutney, and Hazelnut Croquant. This dish is just as pretty as we remember it and, if you’re looking for some quality scallops, look no further! In the past, we’ve found that the garnishes add a great flavor to the creamy parsnip silk making it one delicious entree for only $6.50.

The Beef Bourguignon is another returning dish to the booth and it satisfies all your comfort food needs! It is served with Crushed Potatoes that add a hearty layer to the already rich meal. Plus, it’s a great value for how much you get for $6.

You probably already know that we can’t resist chocolate and when it’s wrapped up with flavors of maple mousse, cranberries, and gingerbread, we REALLY can’t resist. And, that’s just what the returning Maple Bûche de Noël is! This yule log dessert is made with Maple Mousse and Cranberry rolled in Gingerbread Chiffon Cake and then topped with more cream and decorations to give it that festive look.

We’ve had this one at previous festivals and still find ourselves dreaming about that delicious mapley-chocolatey flavor until we can have it again. So, if you’re like us, give it a try! It’ll cost ya $4.75.

And, if you’re doing the Cookie Stroll around World Showcase, then you’ll be stopping here for the Snickers-Doodle Cookie! This holiday kitchen was previously home to the Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie, but this new cookie sounded like a fun addition. We thought this would be a Snickerdoodle cookie with Snickers on top, but it was a regular cookie.

Unfortunately, this cookie was a bit disappointing. It was very plain and the Snickers pieces were the only thing that had some flavor. The cookie costs $2.50.

Beverages

When it comes to the drinks, we ordered up the NEW Maple Cookie Blonde Ale from Playalinda Brewing Company (which is located not too far from Disney World in Titusville, FL). This came as part of a beer flight! This was our favorite beer at the booth and it was the lightest option. We loved the smooth maple taste and it was just slightly darker than a domestic beer!

But, that’s not the only new beer on the menu — there’s also the Stranger Than Peanut Butter & Banana Porter. This one is from Collective Arts (located in Hamilton, Ontario) and the name isn’t the only thing interesting about it! This drink was pretty good overall — it didn’t have a strong banana flavor, but there were definitely hints of peanut butter.

To round out the beer selection here, the Maple Cinnamon Coffee Beer is back again this year! The beer is brewed locally at 81Bay Brewing Co. in Tampa, Florida and it packs a whole lot of flavor into each sip! Now, this one is a dark porter, so it’s pretty rich but all those sweet flavors still go down pretty smoothly in our experience. You can try it for $5 for 6 oz. and $9 for a 12 oz cup.

And, don’t forget that all three of these beers can be ordered in a Beer Flight for $9.75.

Back on the menu again this year is the Frozen Coffee with Tap 357 Whisky. It may not be the hot coffee that you’re craving in the winter, but we’ll give this one a pass because the pairing of the whisky and cold coffee is oh-so-tasty. You can order up the boozy coffee for $12. This drink also made our best of the fest list last year!

The drink menu here also features two different wine options including the Chateau des Charmes Icewine for $14 and the Chateau des Charmes Red Wine for $8.

Overall

All in all, the Yukon Holiday Kitchen has some pretty good eats and drinks! There aren’t any mind-blowing standouts at this booth, but you can grab a variety of boozy drinks here and it’s a must-do if you intend to complete the cookie stroll! If you aren’t doing the cookie stroll, you should definitely skip this cookie. The Frozen Coffee with Tap 357 Whisky is something we’d go out of our way for and drink even when Florida ACTUALLY gets cold!

We’re not done tasting our way around World Showcase just yet, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews of all the eats and drinks at this year’s Festival of the Holidays!
