*NEW* Napoleon de Saumon Fumé en Brioche: Smoked salmon napoleon with layers of smoked salmon, dill mousse, and crème fraîche mousse served in brioche – $8.50
Honestly, this could’ve been better. First off, it doesn’t stay together as the layers simply slide off of one another as you pick up the sandwich. Flavor-wise, it’s fine, but you can do much better at this price around the Festival of the Holidays. The bread is hard on the exterior and soft inside, but still doesn’t make this memorable enough to be recommended.
*NEW* Dinde Forestière, Patates Douces Rôties: Turkey with bacon, mushrooms, and onions in a mustard cream sauce served with roasted sweet potatoes – $7.25
If you missed Thanksgiving dinner or are just nostalgic for it, this dish will hit the spot.
There’s nothing outrageous here, but the turkey is tender and moist, elevated nicely by the gravy and accompanying flavors. The sweet potatoes were well-prepared also, creating a solid dish worth trying if in the mood for it.
*NEW* Bûche de Noël Chocolat Blanc, Framboise: Chocolate Christmas log with chocolate biscuit, white chocolate mousse, raspberry cream, and chocolate fudge coating – $6.25
Rich chocolate against sweet raspberry cream are the dominant flavors in the dessert. I did not enjoy it as much as the last installment, but it is perfectly fine.
The white chocolate mousse offsets the rest well, but the raspberry and the rich chocolate exterior mask its flavor at times.
Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini: Vanilla vodka, vodka, chocolate milk, and whipped cream – $12.50
This martini looks stunning and is perfect for a festive and elegant Instagram post.
However, the martini is just fine at best. It just tastes like frozen chocolate milk served in a fancy glass.
We couldn’t taste any of the vodka in this drink. Even down in the bottom of the glass, it lacked any trace of alcohol.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Louis de Camponac – $6.50
British retailer Tesco describes this wine as having a “rich, ripe blackcurrant red [aroma] with green pepper freshness,” with a “smooth structure and silky texture.”
Rosé Pétillant Méthode Traditionelle Champenoise: Rosé Sparkling Wine, Pink Flamingo – $12.50
This tasted like a bad, cheap rose wine, and even then, it wasn’t good. We expected the rose to be sweet, but it was incredibly dry. We recommend skipping this wine.
Cranberry Mimosa: Sparkling wine with orange juice and cranberry syrup – $9.75
We do enjoy cranberry mixed drinks at this time of year, and this mimosa won’t disappoint. It’s light and refreshing while capturing the flavors of the season well.
