REVIEW: Disney Just Unlocked a Fun Thanksgiving Treat: Chicken Wings with Cranberries

Disney California Adventure is hosting Festival of Holidays again this year.

Disney California Adventure

At the Festival Marketplace, you can find several booths with holiday snacks, treats, and drinks. We’ve already taken a look at Winter Sliderland, and now we’re heading over to the Merry Mashups booth to check out their brand new menu!

In the past, we’ve seen some fun (and delicious) snacks here like the Turkey & Stuffing Tamale and the Pork al Pastor Naan Taco. But you won’t see those here this year. Instead, there are four NEW items on this booth’s menu.

Merry Mashups Booth

Let’s take a look at the menu for 2021!

Menu

On the Merry Mashups menu, you’ll find Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese for $8.00Holiday Spiced Wings for $8.00, and a Holiday Mix for $6.50. (Note that the Holiday Mix is also available at the Treats for Santa booth.)

As far as drinks, you can get the Honey Guava Pisco Punch here for $14.00.

Eats

We started with the Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese, which features Oaxaca and Cotija cheeses with spiced puffed rice. There are a LOT of textures going on here, so depending on your preferences you might not enjoy this, though one of our reporters enjoyed it!

Next up, we had the Holiday Spiced Wings, which are served with citrus cranberries. These wings had a STRONG sweet taste from the cranberries, and also a little bit of citrus flavor. The chicken itself was really flavorful!

They didn’t have the Holiday Mix yet, but we’ll update as soon as we can try it!

Drinks

The Honey Guava Pisco Punch is Pisco brandy, guava juice, spicy honey syrup, ginger, and lime juice. Stay tuned for our review coming soon!

Overall

This is an interesting booth! The Holiday Spiced Wings were a nice mix of sweetness with the flavorful chicken, and the Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese had a lot of different textures, but it might be worth a try if those flavors sound good to you! We’ll be back with reviews of the Holiday Mix and Honey Guava Pisco Punch soon.

Stay tuned with DFB, because we’re checking out all the booths at this year’s Festival of Holidays in Disneyland!
