Giant Tostada de Chorizo: Chorizo served on a giant tostada with chipotle black bean purée, salsa verde, queso cotija, crema mexicana, and pickled onion – $9.75
This was really tasty. The ground chorizo has a nice spice to it.
The queso and pickled onion balance the flavors well with some creaminess from the cheese and a fresh crunch from the onion.
It’s hard to eat, for sure — it doesn’t cut well. The presentation doesn’t come out as attractive as they probably expected, either.
Overall, though, this is still a good dish, albeit slightly overpriced for what it is.
*NEW* Tamal de Barbacoa: Shredded barbacoa beef in a corn masa topped with ranchera salsa, queso cotija, and crema Mexicana – $7.50
This was bland. It was dry with just a hint of spice.
There’s very little beef inside.
It’s a hard pass on this from us.
Dulce de Leche Churros sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar – $5.95
This was an okay churro. The Dulce de Leche filling was hard to pin down a taste for. It was just creamy and sweet, almost apple tasting.
It was decent, but not any more exciting than a regular churro.
*NEW* Cranberry-Cinnamon Margarita: Apple-cinnamon infused mezcal, cranberry juice, orange liqueur, and lime juice with a cinnamon-sugar rim – $13.50
This margarita was very syrupy and super sweet. It was watered down and light on the alcohol.
We don’t get much cranberry flavor and only a hint of cinnamon. We definitely don’t recommend this.
Horchata Margarita: Tequila blanco, corn whiskey, horchata, and cinnamon horchata rum – $13.00
This is like horchata flavored coconut water, and it even says in the description “Agua de Horchata” so we should have known then. It’s a very thin consistency, and it’s sippable but not entirely drinkable. The cinnamon is hard to find in here, and no flavors stand out either.
*NEW* Mistletoe Cerveza: Tulum Artisanal Lager with Blackcurrant Liqueur – $7.00/$13.00 (6oz/12oz)
The liquor separates from the beer, which tastes like a Corona or Dos Equis.
It’s odd, the liquor doesn’t enhance the beer at all.
