While we wish we were saying goodbye to the Tuscany Holiday Kitchen at the 2021 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, we aren’t, so we’re going to set our expectations low and taste all of the new food this kitchen has to offer.

*NEW* Mezzelune Croccanti: Crispy half-moon breaded mozzarella-filled ravioli with pomodoro sauce – $12.00

These aren’t bad. They’re just fried cheese in marinara sauce, which is basic but good. That said, this is horribly overpriced.

*NEW* Ravioli: Shrimp ravioli in scampi sauce with white wine, garlic, lemon zest, and parsley – $13.00

This is fishy and awful. It tastes like swimming on a Caribbean island. No amount of butter — even the pool visible above — can save this dish.

*NEW* Bomboloni alla Cioccolato-Nocciola: Chocolate-filled Italian doughnut with chocolate-hazelnut spread and powdered sugar – $11.00

These are simple pastries filled with Nutella. They’re another basic dish and there’s no reason to buy them at EPCOT for $11.

Pinot Grigio, Santa Marina ($6/bottle) – $10.00

Total Wine & More describes Santa Marina Pinot Grigio as “pale yellow in color, and contains aromas of citrus, nectarines, and peaches, with earthy notes. A light-bodied palate with a medium amount of acidity, and a short finish.”

Chianti, Gabbiano ($7/bottle) – $10.00

Total Wine & More describes Gabbiano Chianti: “The bouquet is reminiscent of ripe plums spiced with pepper and wood nuances. The first sip reveals invigorating flavors of cherry, blackberry, and spice followed by a dry vivid finish.”

Prosecco, Villa Sandi ($16/bottle) – $10.00

Villa Sandi describes their wine’s aroma as “…fruity and flowery with hints of ripe golden apple and small mountain flowers.” “The dry, fresh and flavorsome sensation on the palate is followed by a fruity and harmonious aftertaste.”

Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Red Wine – $11.00

According to Banfi, Rosa Regale has a “festive cranberry” color, with an “aromatic [bouquet] with hints of raspberries, strawberries and rose petals,” and the taste of “fresh raspberries, with crisp acidity, enticing the palate with an initial softness, graduating to a clean and dry finish.”

Moscato – $11.00

Italian White Sangria with Prosecco – $11.00

Usually, when a Sangria beverage of this price contains more juice than wine, we would complain. However, since the wine in this drink tasted particularly cheap and unpleasant, in this case it was somewhat of a relief. The drink was supposed to contain Prosecco, however this was unidentifiable from the lack of fizz in the drink.

Italian Red Sangria with Cabernet Sauvignon – $11.00

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.

Italian Margarita with Tequila and Limoncello – $11.00

The margarita was quite good as it tasted almost like a melting lemon ice dessert. However, there didn’t seem to be much liquor in the drink, as we didn’t taste much besides the faint hint of tequila.

Overall, this is a tasty drink, but don’t expect to get much alcohol for your money here.

Peroni Pilsner – $6.00

Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.”
