Seared Scallops with Parsnip Silk, Apple Chutney, and Hazelnut Croquant – $6.50
The scallops themselves are tasty, with no grit — they’re tender and well-cooked. However, the apple chutney is way too sweet. It overpowers the dish, which is too delicate to stand up against the sweetness of the chutney.
Beef Bourguignon with Crushed Potatoes – $6.00
The potatoes are creamy, but there are some potato skins left in for a heartier taste. The sauce is very wine-forward but has a good balance of sweetness. The beef is incredibly tender and fell apart, which was good. There are carrots in it too. We loved this dish.
Maple Bûche de Noël: Maple mousse and cranberry rolled in gingerbread chiffon cake – $4.75
With maple mousse rolled in gingerbread chiffon cake with cranberry sauce and pecan crumble, this isn’t only the best yule log we tried, but one of the best things we had at the whole Festival. Get it!
*NEW* SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie made with SNICKERS bar pieces (Holiday Cookie Stroll) – $2.50
A classic snickerdoodle cookie topped with rich chocolate and Snickers bar pieces, this is sure to please. We wish the topping covered the entire cookie as those re the best bites, but it’s still an enjoyable treat nonetheless. The cookie itself was soft and crumbly, seemingly quite fresh.
Frozen Coffee (nonalcoholic) – $4.50
The frozen coffee offering here was good. It has a smooth and creamy consistency, but nothing about it stands out or makes it a must-try item.
81Bay Brewing Co. Maple Cinnamon Coffee Beer, Tampa, FL – $5.00 (6 oz) / $9.00 (12 oz)
From correspondence with 81Bay Brewing Co.: “Maple Cinnamon Coffee Porter is a smooth and rich porter with layers of roasted malts and fresh whole bean coffee complemented with sweet maple and spiced with cinnamon.”
*NEW* Playalinda Brewing Company Maple Cookie Blonde Ale, Titusville, FL – $5.00 (6 oz) / $9.00 (12 oz)
*NEW* Collective Arts Stranger Than Peanut Butter & Banana Porter, Hamilton, Ontario (5.5% ABV) – $5.00 (6 oz) / $9.00 (12 oz)
From correspondence with Collective Arts Brewery: “Our latest creation, Stranger Than Peanut Butter & Banana, is a deep brew, sweet but very approachable. With flavors of Banana Bread loaded with Peanut Butter and notes of a toasty cup of coffee, we think this is the coziest brew we’ve ever come up with!”
Chateau des Charmes Icewine – $14.00
Chateau des Charmes Red Wine – $8.00
Frozen Coffee with Tap 357 Whisky – $12.00
The whiskey coffee found here in Canada has a strong taste, but it’s super smooth. For someone who usually doesn’t like whiskey, it surprisingly tasted great with the coffee. A definite winner at this booth.
Beer Flight – $9.75
