Chestnuts and Good Cheer is a brand new booth at EPCOT’s 2021 Festival of the Holidays!
Here you’ll find gourmet nuts as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options, including festive favorites like hot cocoa and eggnog. Read on for our full review here!
In the World Showcase, you’ll find the Chestnuts and Good Cheer booth located near Port of Entry (right before you get to the Mexico pavilion). If you don’t know where to go, just follow the intoxicating smell of roasting nuts until you bump into this booth.
Before you head in, make sure to check out our FREE DFB-exclusive printable to see all of the menu options for this year’s holiday kitchens. Let’s take a look at what treats you’ll find here!
Menu
At Chestnuts and Good Cheer, you’ll find four nut dishes including Cinnamon-glazed Almonds, Cinnamon-glazed Pecans, Cinnamon-glazed Cashews, and Fire-roasted Chestnuts. These nuts are all gluten and wheat friendly.
For drinks, there are options like Gourmet Hot Cocoa, Sweet Nutty Stout, Gourmet Hot Cocoa with Peanut Butter Whiskey, and T.G. Lee Eggnog with Peanut Butter Whiskey. Nonalcoholic T.G. Lee Eggnog is an option too!
Eats
It’s time to eat! Each of the nutty snacks on this menu are $5.25.
The nuts each come in a little paper bag with heart patterns on the outside.
We tried all three kinds of Cinnamon-glazed nuts, including the Almonds, Cashews, and Pecans.
All of these were delicious!
They pretty much tasted like your standard glazed nuts, with slightly different crunches and flavors on each one.
And finally, we tasted the Fire-roasted Chestnuts. You can see the chefs roasting the chestnuts at the booth!
The chestnuts were pretty sweet. They have a good amount of sugar on them, along with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
In general, these were the perfect holiday snack. Can anyone else name a more perfect holiday snack than literal chestnuts roasting on an open fire? The chestnuts were hands-down our favorite of the snacks on this menu.
We definitely need a drink to wash down all these nuts!
Beverages
There’s a LOT to drink at this new booth! In terms of non-alcoholic drinks, you can get the American Heritage Gourmet Hot Cocoa and T.G. Lee Eggnog, each for $3.50. If you’re looking for something boozier, you can try the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Hazel Nutty-Cracker Sweet Stout, which you can get as a 6 oz drink for $5 or a 12 oz drink for $9. But we went straight for a different drink on this menu.
There’s boozy hot cocoa, y’all. You can get the American Heritage Gourmet Hot Cocoa with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, which also comes with Whipped Cream and Candied Nuts. This drink is $11.
You can definitely taste the peanut butter flavor in this drink! The whiskey hits you right away, and we could tell that it had a nutty flavor to it. The taste was a little bit strong in our opinion, but it was also very good.
The whipped cream on top had a couple of marshmallows in it as well, which we enjoyed. We think that people will also really enjoy the non-alcoholic version of this drink, since it was pretty sweet with a rich chocolate flavor. We didn’t drink our hot cocoa right away (we stopped to take some pictures of it first), but when we did it was the perfect temperature.
And we HAD to get the T.G. Lee Eggnog with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, which was $11 as well.
The same peanut butter whiskey as the hot cocoa had is in this drink as well, and we prefer it in the eggnog. Part of the reason is that the eggnog is served cold, which is how we usually prefer our whiskey.
The eggnog itself is pretty thick, so while you’re taking smaller sips you can still get the warm whiskey flavor in your mouth. You can tell that there’s alcohol in this drink, but it’s not overpowering or even as strong as it was in the hot cocoa.
Overall
If you’re looking for a tasty snack to munch on or a drink to sip while you travel around World Showcase, you can’t go wrong at the Chestnuts and Good Cheer booth. All of the nuts here were pretty standard but very delicious, and the chestnuts were absolutely amazing. For drinks, we loved the eggnog most of all, but the hot cocoa did not disappoint either. Basically, if you put tons of holiday cheer into a single place at the EPCOT Festival of Holidays, it would be this booth.
And that’s the Chestnuts and Good Cheer booth! Stay tuned to DFB for the rest of the 2021 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. We’ve got reviews of all the booths coming your way.
