We Have That Berries And Cream Song Stuck In Our Heads Again Thanks To This Disney Spot

The holiday season has arrived at Disneyland Resort!

We’re checking out the merchandise, the snacks, and the Merriest Nites event at Disneyland Park, but over at Disney California Adventure, it’s the Festival of Holidays once again! We’re at the first day of the fest (some booths opened a day early), ready to try all of the eats. Let’s go!

Currently, we’re heading over to the Grandma’s Recipes booth to try out some delicious holiday treats and share our thoughts!

Grandma’s Recipes

Menu

Let’s start with the booth menu. Grandma’s Recipes serves up two different food items and a beverage. The selection is small but mighty!

Do any of those items sound good to you? Let’s taste them and find out!

Food

Let’s start things off with the Impossible Arepa Encantada! It’s made with a Dairy-Free Queso-Stuffed Maiz with Spiced Plant-Based Ground Meat and Pickled Onions and costs $7.50. This dish would’ve been perfect, except the maiz base is way too thick! The bland flavor and thickness of the maiz overshadowed the delicious Impossible meat on top of it.

Next up is the Gingerbread Mickey — isn’t he cute? He’s a Gingerbread Cookie with Sprinkles. You can buy one for $5.25. This one was a winner for us! It was a nice, thick gingerbread cookie with the perfect amount of soft chewiness.

Drinks

And finally, we’ve got the beverage! This is a Berries ‘n’ Crema made with Huckleberry, Strawberry, and Raspberry House-Made Syrup, Condensed and Whole Milk, and Fruit-Flavored Cereal Topped with House-Made Strawberry Whipped Cream. It sounds pretty intriguing to us, and you can get it for $6.50.

This drink was a bit of a weird combo for us because it’s milk with ice! However, it’s a lot like drinking a bowl of fruity cereal and a bit overly sweet, but still a fun drink to try.

Overall

Overall, this booth was hit or miss. If you’re looking for a vegan dish, the Arepa might be a good option for you despite it’s bland, thick maiz on the bottom. However, another meat-free option is the Impossible Chorizo Fundido from the Brews & Bites booth!

Overall

If you’re dead-set on getting one thing from this booth, go for that Gingerbread Mickey! Meanwhile, we’ve tried better booths today, like Favorite Things, which had an excellent Stuffing Mac ‘n’ Cheese, and Winter Sliderland with its Nashville Hot Turkey Slider. We think there are better more hearty options at other booths for sure!
