What Is December Weather REALLY Like In Disney World?

Can you believe it’s already DECEMBER!?

So Pretty!

Well, maybe not QUITE yet, but it will be the last month of the year just next week! If you’re spending some of the holiday season in Disney World, you might have packing on your mind. Well, we’re here to help. Let’s take a look at the FULL weather update for Disney World next week — with some tips too!

Weather Forecast

We’re headed into some of the chilliest months of the whole year! Just like last week, we’ll see warmer days and cooler nights. You can get used to needing layers in Disney World for a little while!

Magic Kingdom

The good thing about winter is that it’s Florida’s dry season! You certainly won’t need to prep for rain AS much as the summer, but don’t discount the possibility.

November 29th

Based on The Weather Channel, Monday, November 29th is expected to be a very comfortable daytime with a 69-degree high and a 46-degree low. Whew! That evening is pretty cool! Make sure you’re ready for that drastic drop with a layer to toss on as the sun goes down.

With a mainly sunny day and a low 6% chance of rain, this just might be a GORGEOUS Disney day — with a pretty but chilly night.

November 30th

On Tuesday, November 30th, you’ll see that weather scoot up a few degrees for the high and the low. Still, you’ll want to bring that extra layer most days this week. While you might be comfy at noon in the 72-degree weather, things could be a little chilly in the morning and the night.

The rain chance stays relatively low for much of next week. If we keep our fingers crossed, we might even escape the rain altogether!

December 1st

When we reach Wednesday, December 1st, we’ll see another rainless day and those temperatures should stabilize at around the same spot as they were the day before — but just a bit warmer.

Keep in mind that we’ve got higher humidity here in Florida. That can make the weather feel a few degrees warmer or colder than it actually is.

December 2nd

On Thursday, December 2nd, the high warms up just a few degrees to some of the warmest temps of the whole week. It’s wild to think our max temperature next week is in the high 70s!

It’s really cooling off and the days are getting shorter too! Expect sunrise around 7AM and sunset around 5:30PM. That’s PLENTY of after-dark hours in the theme parks to see the Christmas lights, Beacons of Magic, and fireworks!

December 3rd

For Friday, December 3rd, the weather sticks around that mid-70s high and high-50s low. Florida winter means 20-degree fluctuations between the day and the night! Whew!

During the day it will be sunny with a few passing clouds. Winds will be light so the breeze shouldn’t be enough to get you down.

December 4th

We pop back up to those warmer temperatures on Saturday, December 4th! You’ll probably feel pretty warm during the day but don’t skip bringing an extra layer!

This day has the highest rain chance of the whole week, but we still might not see any. You’ll want to be prepared, though. Pro trip! Bring an insulated rain jacket and let your rain layer DOUBLE as your warmth layer!

December 5th

Saturday, December 5th drops a bit from the temps of the day before but so does that rain chance!. 71 degrees is back down on the cooler end of predictions for next week.

And our evening temperatures are going to be 53 degrees! Whew, more cool nights! We love packing a scarf to be prepared for when those temperatures drop.

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. You’ll spot relatively consistent temperatures throughout the week. It looks like the most likely days for rain are Saturday and Sunday. Keep in mind though, Florida likes to hit us with those rainy curveballs!

Remember, meteorologists aren’t perfect and the weather, especially in Florida, is a fickle, fickle thing! These days could look VERY different from these forecasts so you’ll want to keep checking as your packing.

Tips for Weathering the Weather

If you are headed to Disney World next week, we’ve got a few tips on how to plan for the weather!

Layers!

We’ve said it before and we will say it again: Our BIGGEST tip for the cooler seasons in Disney World is to bring LAYERS. Hot and sunny days and chilly nights are a RECIPE for finding yourself dressed wrong for the current temps.

So, bring a light jacket and a warm hat or scarf. If you do find yourself in the parks unprepared for the chill, head on to the nearest merchandise store. You might drop a prettier penny than you would have liked on those warm items, but at least you’ll be cozy!

Prepare for the unexpected!

Just because we’re seeing cooler temps, doesn’t mean that you don’t need to worry about the sun. You’ll want to bring sunglasses or a hat, and PLENTY of sunscreen.

AND, even with little to no rain chance, you want to be prepared for showers! Snag a raincoat or poncho to tote along to the parks to make sure you don’t end up drenched — especially with more frigid temps at night!
