- The Walt Disney World Railroad will finally begin testing its adjusted route soon, after being closed for over three years.
EPCOT
- Details were released today for the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine at the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- A preview of the returning Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular was shared today on the Disney Parks TikTok account.
- Mickey’s of Hollywood now has mobile checkout available for guests.
Other Walt Disney World News
- Select cruise dates for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser have opened up in March, May, and June of 2022.
Disneyland Resort
- A “Detective Jessica Rabbit” figure was installed today on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin.
- Disney Genie launched today, and we have a full guide on how to use the system, including how to purchase Genie+ and make Lightning Lane selections.
- We also have full details on the cost of Individual Lightning Lane purchases at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, and a guide on how to purchase them.
- Surprisingly, tax is not added to the cost of Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane individual purchases.
- Not that any of these guides would’ve been useful today, as the launch of Disney Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane faced technical issues that brought the entire system down for most of the day, causing long lines at Guest Relations and City Hall.
- To the point where the entire Disneyland app was down for much of the afternoon, and Cast Members were forced to check email confirmations to determine Lightning Lane eligibility.
- Guest Relations Cast Members eventually began issuing paper Attraction Recovery Tickets to make up for the problem, which Guests could use to ride any attraction except Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
- In the end, all sales of Disney Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane purchases were suspended for the rest of the day, and Guests who purchased Genie+ were given refunds.
- In lighter news, hand-pulled candy canes have returned to Disney California Adventure!
Disney Cruise Line
- Walt Disney Imagineering previewed the ornamental filigree for the bow of the upcoming Disney Wish on Instagram today.
New Merchandise
- Lots of new Luxe Collection merchandise hit shopDisney today, including a new Starbucks mug, ears, and a gold Loungefly backpack.
- Also in new 50th Anniversary merchandise is a Celebration Collection Loungefly pin bag!
- That Luxe Collection gold leather Loungefly also arrived at Walt Disney World today, and even features real gold flakes on the bag.
- So much Loungefly, we even spotted two new jumbo pins themed to the Disney Skyliner and “Alice in Wonderland” today.
- Our merchandise roundup from Walt Disney World yesterday included lots of fun new items, like Artfully Evil and “Bedkobs and Broomsticks” pins, a Tinker Bell long-sleeved shirt, a “Ratatouille” figure, and more!
- Over at Disneyland, we found a Christmas Groot Loungefly belt bag.
