If you follow along with our EPCOT construction updates, you may have noticed that we ride the Monorail most mornings to get a bird’s eye view of the park. We arrived at EPCOT at about 10:00 a.m. today and boarded Monorail Gold for our usual round-trip to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Unfortunately, the Monorail stopped at about 10:08 a.m. The Monorail ahead of us had apparently gone down and had to be switched with another.
By 10:21 a.m., we were moving again and arrived at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which was full of guests hoping to get to the park.
Cast Members then packed the Monorail as full as possible since guests at the station had been waiting for so long.
Unfortunately, the Monorails ahead of us were still being switched, so we still couldn’t leave.
After sitting at the Transportation and Ticket Center for about five minutes, Cast Members started giving out complimentary “FastPasses” to those of us on the Monorail. Yes, they said FastPasses.
Since they had no paper FastPasses, they were scanning individual tickets.
At 10:39 a.m., the doors closed… then promptly reopened. Cast Members then started giving FastPasses to the guests waiting on the platform. We finally left the Transportation and Ticket Center at 10:43 a.m., and everyone cheered. We arrived back at the EPCOT station around 11:05 a.m.
We checked out our “FastPass,” which, of course, is actually Lightning Lane access.
It’s valid for the next two days on most attractions that are usually available through Genie+.
We can use it at any of the four parks.
Funny enough, the available experiences listed include some that are currently closed, such as Voyage of The Little Mermaid and Fantasmic!
Attractions that are only available via an individual Lightning Lane purchase — such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — were, of course, not included.
