Limited Time CHANGES Announced for Genie+ and Pay-Per-Ride Selections in Disney World

Disney World recently launched their Genie planning program through the My Disney Experience app.

It can help you plan out your day in Disney World for free! Also launched was the new system that has replaced FastPass — Genie+. This is a paid system that allows you access to the Lightning Lanes (old FastPass lanes) of 46 attractions. There are also high demand rides not included with Genie+ that you can pay individually to use the Lightning Lanes and skip the standby lines. We’ve been used to how this system works since it launched in October, but things are about to CHANGE!

From December 19th, 2021 through January 3rd, 2022 there are going to be some changes in Disney World! First, Early Theme Park Entry will now be 60 minutes instead of 30, meaning Disney hotel guests can get into the parks an HOUR before they officially open!

Next, some rides will no longer be available as Individual Attraction Selections (pay-per-ride), but will instead be INCLUDED in Genie+! Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom, Frozen Ever After in EPCOT, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios, and Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom will ALL now be included with Genie+!

WOW! So 4 rides that you would have had to pay to use the Lightning Lane for individually will now be included with the rides that you can access with that $15 per day, per person you pay for Genie+. We’ll be on the lookout for any more changes and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
