As the rate of vaccination changes nationwide and COVID variants continue to be discovered, we’re still keeping an eye on the latest levels of community transmission and how it may impact your future travel plans.
If you have an upcoming trip to Disney World planned, you’ll want to hear about the latest updates from the CDC.
According to the CDC, Orange County in the state of Florida has fallen back into the “Substantial” category when it comes to overall COVID transmission. The CDC ranks levels of community transmission into four categories: High, Substantial, Moderate, and Low (in order of most severe to least severe).
Currently, Orange County is reporting a positivity rate of 4.03%, which is an increase of 1.19% over the last seven days. As you can see from the map below, surrounding counties are also currently in the “Substantial” category. According to the CDC, this level means that all individuals should wear face coverings in public, indoor spaces. Disney World’s current face mask guidance is in line with this advisory, with face masks required indoors for all guests ages two and up, regardless of vaccination status.
We’ll continue to keep a close watch on Orange County, Florida in the coming days and weeks, and we will let you know if we hear of any additional updates.
