Though Disney World can be a magical place, sometimes things don’t quite go to plan.
We’ve seen rides shut down for technical issues, evacuated, or even closed due to smoke! Today, as we were walking through Magic Kingdom, we noticed that a popular ride was closed and being evacuated.
Early this morning, we saw that Splash Mountain was temporarily closed.
When we walked past it, we noticed that several of the boats were stopped and water was not running in certain areas.
We also saw that the ride was listed as “temporarily closed” on the My Disney Experience app.
As we stood near the area, we could see guests getting up and being evacuated from the attraction.
You can see them as they step off the boats and walk through the evacuation route.
Check out the video below of Cast Members assisting in the evacuation process.

Evacuations and ride closures can happen, so it’s important to keep that in mind for future trips and be prepared. If a ride is closed, be sure to check back on the My Disney Experience app to see if it opens later in the day. If you’re on a ride when it stops and must be evacuated, be sure to listen to the Cast Members and follow their directions.
