Disney has a long-term commitment to sustainability at its parks; whether it’s solar panels, helping endangered animals, or using recycled materials for their products — Disney is taking steps to become a zero-waste company.
Today, let’s take a look at an award-winning trash can (yes, you read that right!) at Disneyland Resort that’s helping shake things up!
At Disneyland near Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland, you’ll spot a food waste can! This might seem like your average garbage can, but the food waste thrown into this can is turned into farm nutrients that can be used for local agriculture. These cans, along with a number of other initiatives, earned Disneyland the 2021 SEAL Business Sustainability Award!
Recently, we’ve seen a number of sustainability initiatives from Disney, starting the process of eliminating single-use plastic at their parks and pushing well beyond their sustainability goals.
We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news, so stay tuned here for more!
