While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to see the new giraffe gingerbread sculpture, we stopped by The Mara to try some tasty holiday treats.
Gingeraffe – $4.99
Gingerbread giraffe cookie with milk chocolate buttercream filling
We couldn’t resist seeing the two adorable gingerbread giraffes together.
The Gingeraffe was your classic gingerbread cookie. It was perfectly cooked and moist, though it crumbled easily.
The buttercream was labeled as chocolate, but it tasted like standard vanilla frosting.
The snowflake was a crunchy sugar decoration, and while cute and edible, we don’t recommend eating it. It wasn’t easy to chew, and the dessert is sweet enough without it.
Chocolate Peppermint Cookie – $4.99
Smoked chocolate and spice cookie with peppermint buttercream
Wow, this was fantastic. The peppermint buttercream and spiced chocolate cookie complement each other.
The cookie is a tad chewy, but the spiced chocolate was absolutely delicious. Everything flows together perfectly.
It would pair fantastically with a glass of red wine. The Gingeraffe is cuter, but this wins for flavor.
