Since last year, ‘Olu Mel has made Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort his home away from home, and this year, Pineapple Lanai has made him the star of their Christmas float!
‘Olu Mel Christmas Float — $6.49
DOLE Whip Lime Float with an ‘Olu Mel White Chocolate Medallion and Strawberry Popping Candy
This is such a cute float! The medallion on the front actually has an adorable ‘Olu Mel design on it.
It features ‘Olu Mel making a “snow” angel in the sand as he wears a festive floral hat and scarf.
You can hear the popping from the popping candy, but unfortunately, we didn’t get many, so the effect was lost.
We also feel like this is where the specialty of the float is lost because without the popping candy, this was just lime Dole whip.
It’s still great, but what would’ve really made this is a little bit more of the popping candy.
We got this suspicious-looking dark spot at the bottom of our cup, but a Cast Member assured us it was just a bit of food dye.
Also the medallion, while cute, turned out to have a piece of printed edible paper on the chocolate, which was rather chewy.
It’s visually pretty to take a picture with, but otherwise not worth going out of your way.
If you want to try this super-cute treat for yourself, you’ll have to be faster than a turtle, because it’s only available through December 25.
